DiMaggio Baseball Likely Not Genuine

This DiMaggio baseball is being offered by eBay seller sigsportsstuff and has been determined to be "Likely Not Genuine" by PSA-DNA.

The certificate besides the ball in the picture looks like it was printed on a computer and has a cheap hologram attached to it to make it look authentic.

The unfortuate thing is that the ball is currently at $202 on eBay. Be sure to tell your friends about this blog so they don't end up with sports memorabilia like this.

Find authentic baseball sports memorabilia online.

I was actually watching this auction on Ebay. Looked very, very suspicious to me. They always claim to "Obtain autograph items through Steiner Sports and other reputable sources" and yet in the 9 months I've been watching their auctions, they've never sold one Steiner Sports autographed item on Ebay.

thats a shame that people dont use the psa quick service on high dollar items even tho i dont support any third party authenticators due to the fact that a very good forger can pass anything through them.ALL-AUTHENTIC you should check out this listings on ebay #5223238120
#5220680012when you see the names in these listings it will bring back the memories of the bull pen sting.one item is a dimaggio ball with a coa from the "DIMAGGIO COMPANY"and the other is a 12 ball collection from the 500 club with coas from "S.C.A.A." AND "DR. DONALD FRANGIPENI"its really sad that 95% of todays collectors dont know that this are the biggest fakes in memorabilia.i cant belive that ebay has allowed this listings to stand.ive reported both listings and i guess they really dont care since there making money.is there any way to at least put them up on your board to educate other collectors about coas and names of companys not to buy from????i lost over 50,000 to the marion family and never thought i would ever see a S.C.A.A. coa again but i guess there being filtered into ebay again so BUYER BEWARE!!read ebays list of banned authenitcators before you lose your hard earned money to a scam.

Yes, it is really ashame that people continue to buy high-end fake autographs without doing any kind of research. I've actually warned people about certain sellers and for the most part all I hear is "mind your own business." The type of seller that sells high-end fakes is making a ton of money from people (no, I won't call them "collectors") who simply "believe everything they read." Just because it's on Ebay doesn't make it authentic; as a matter of fact, it's just the opposite, unless it's Steiner, UDA, The Card Companies (Topps, Upper Deck, etc), then you have to ask yourself a few questions before you bid: One, how does a seller who doesn't have a contract with athletes have an endless inventory of autographed memorabilia? Two, when the seller states in their auction "we obtain our autographs through reputable sellers, runners, hawkers, etc." There's a red flag right there. Don't bid. The majority of Derek Jeter autographed photos, bats, baseballs, etc. on Ebay are fake "people." The "collectors" already know that.
