Pujols "Autograph"?

This was sent to us by one of our readers. It is our understanding that Pujols does not sign premium items (bats, jerseys, etc) for less than $700 each. This ball is being sold by ajdjsmom on eBay. Below is a Pujols autograph from Mounted Memories. You make the decision.

The seller of this absolute fake Albert Pujols baseball named "AJDJSMOM" has been selling fakes on Ebay for a long time now. What truly amazes me is that "people" continue to bid on garbage like this. If those "people" don't bid on garbage like that then the sellers who sell fake autograph memorabilia wouldn't be able to stay in business. Personally, I blame the "people (true collectors don't bid or buy garbage like that)" who buy fake autograph items as much as I do the people who sell them for the mess in the fake autograph memorabilia industry.

pujols had a very unconsistent signature though. but yeh there are so many fake pujols auto's out there. his signautre is very simple and a big star so obviously the result is all those bad fakes.

They bid on it because people want to believe it is real. We want to trust our fellow man or woman even when it looks shady. Some go strictly on a sellers feedback also and do not question the ethical ways of a seller. The best thing to do is contact all this seller has sold b.s. autographs to in the past and enlighten them to the practices of this seller. If a seller gets booted off ebay, true they can go under another name easy enough, but they are virgins in feedback again and people will question autographs alot more coming from a person with no or few feedbacks.

The previous comment about buyers of fake autographs "wanting to believe is true" is right on the money. There are also those that simply buy a fake autograph item just to have "bragging rights." Do you realize at this moment there are probably over 500,000 people who have a fake autographed baseball, football, football helmet, etc., sitting on their desk. And the majority of those fake autograph items (especially football helmets and footballs) are from Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady. And then there are those who simply believe everything they read no matter how bad the fake autograph looks like.

The ones that buy only to show off i have no pity for. The ones who buy for the love of the game and get ripped i have all my sorrow for. Sellers that flood the market with fakes hurt me whether its me or some other trusting soul they rip off. True this is a big business now,but it is still a hobby too for alot of people.
I do attempt to get bogus materials taken off ebay and people may say it is not my place but i beg to differ. It is the responsibility of everyone to act on this epidemic. I finally had ebay make one seller remove his b.s. signatures and i feel proud of myself. Soon i will probably be getting bogus messages on here about me but i do not care. We must continue to do what we feel is right in our hearts. I read what they typed in a previous post too Chris and you also should feel proud. You are getting under these dirtbags skin and that is all good. There is a solution to this forgers paradise and that answer is in us. Well i don't want this to sound like a battle cry so i will just leave it like this...All of you that are doing your part, pat yourselves on the backs because alot of people are proud of what you're doing and more people stand by you than opposed.

Look at the Matt Hasselbeck Auto they are selling. They have in the title Matt Hasselbeck Signed Mini Helmet-COA-Seahawks which makes people believe it is authenticated through the Seahawks if they do not read the description. See for yourself. I think the autograph is awful.

Regarding the Pujols, unless it is from a company like Mounted Memories, All Authentic, or Steiner, one should only trust Pujols autos that are from card packs and certified through that company like Fleer or Topps.

I love the way this seller will not reveal exactly where this sports authentication place is at. Maybe another spoof sports company?

Has anyone ever heard of Gallen sports? Another authentication company?

So, Pujols is charging $700 per autographed bat. If this is factual, why are sellers like steelers_hq continuing to place auction after auction for Pujols bats on eBay?

So, if this is true that Pujols charges $700 per bat, why does eBay permit seller after seller to place these items for sale? In the past 30 days steelers_hq has sold 13 Pujols autographed bats, and currently has 3 bats and 2 full size batting helmets for sale!
Who finally says ENOUGH?!!!!

eBay sometimes turns their back to problems like this because they don't like having to police it.

They should police it because they are making money from the ad and from the sale. Actually they have done a really good job in the last year getting fake sellers off eBay.

However, fake sellers continue to relist because unless enough people write to eBay to complain about a particular seller, they will remain on eBay.

A lot of these fradulent sellers will get kicked off and then come back under a different name.

The best defense for the consumer is education, we attempt to educate consumers through this blog so they know what to look for when buying signed sports memorabilia.

We have received emails from a lot of people who were going to spend money on questionable items, then stopped, because of information they learned.

Forward this blog to as many collectors as you know, the more that are contributing, the better!

your allright on "steelers_hg" his items are very suspect and not just because of the low price but thats the first thing to raise the red flag.beyond his so called signed albert p. items his pittsburgh steeler items are very bad and stand out like a sore thumb..heres a great leason on what a lot of con artists do....when a player or team gets hot,,,,or wins the championship all of the sudden theres double-triple the amount of listings of that player or team.for example this seller were speaking of is called "steeler_hq" making the buyer lead to belive this is somekinda of dealer that works or is connected to the steelers making buyers have trust in them when infact if you look at his feedback score it will show you that the seller just changed his name to steeler_hq right after the steelers got hot.......im a huge steeler collector and have been for years and a friend told me of this site and said they say some steeler signed items on it so i found this blog and read a few listings and find it very helpful...i have found a few sellers that do private signings with the steeler players on ebay who ive bought from and sent there items to psa and never had a problem and there ebay names are "algelica1"(steelers collector world),"bestdamsteelerstuff","steelerman78(steel-town memorabilia),"steelcityauctions" and"hotcornersports"(hot corner sports)thanks for reading and hope everyone makes the smart choices on buying there memorabilia

110% fake autographs, no doubt in my mind

You are correct Willie, since they can get an unlimted supply of autographs, fake sellers can produce items at will -- therefore they are first to list any Super Bowl items or whatever else they are selling.

That is a big sign when looking at a seller. Do they have everyone under the sun? It is very hard to get a lot of players (especially current players because they are very expensive and they don't sign much).

I, too, like Cosmicgallery mentions, feels it is the responsibility of us to help rid these bad sellers from the industry. That seller, Steelers_hq, recently changed their name on Ebay to Memorabilia_hq, but I also noticed that they are now "Unregistered" on Ebay. So it looks like Ebay caught up with them. I've been complaining to Ebay about them for awhile now and it looks as though they finally did the right thing. All of their "Onlinesportsautographs" autograph were and are fake.

AJDJSMOM - I concur this seller is a complete and obvious fraud, I've seen many poor quality forgeries under this ID. Steelers_HQ is also questionable, I had one of their items fail PSA/DNA quick check I was considering bidding on. Keep highlighting these people here, it helps.

Jdaddy05 is the worst of the worst...Pujols, A-Rod. Take a look at this one: 290014540335

I hate this stuff and I didn't understand it at first, but I know now why Steiner charges $500+ for a Jeter and McGwire autographs. My first Ebay transaction was with Lonestar Sports - A-Rod auto photo for Buy it Now of $20 - ahhh the good ole days...Thanks for the great site! bigtruck260 (ebay ID)
