Jeter & Arod Signed Ball?
This is a very interesting auction sent to us by one of our readers. The ball is authenticated by AROD Authentic and comes with a COA and hologram. Our reader says that the AROD signature looks perfect, but the Jeter sig does not look good. He thinks that AROD could have possibly purchased fake Jeter baseballs and then signed them.
Since we have several experts that read this blog, what do you think?

I am the one who sent this to be posted. Here are my views on these Jeter / Arod signed balls from AROD authenticated. I have seen about a dozen of these from AROD, and every one that also is to have been signed by Jeter, the Jeter signature looks like a forgery. My best guess is that AROD authenticated purchased a lot of Jeter 'signed' balls to have AROD sign and sell. The only way to get a dozen or plus Jeter balls, I dont care who you are is from Steiner, so they should all also have the Steiner hologram. Put that fact aside, and just look at the signatures, they are clearly not authentic Jeter sigs.
Let me know your thoughts....

Very simple... The seller bought an Arod ball and added the Jeter sig himself. Having the ball with an Arod hologram adds a certain validity to the item. If you see an Arod holo on it you say the Arod sig is legit so you are for likely to believe the Jeter sig is legit also. Notice the certificate says it has been signed by AROD not Jeter.
That guy with he name real sports memorabilia is legit.I have bought stuff off of him. The bad thing about this blog is that everybody loogks a the the legit sellers like they are crooked as well. Not everybody is selling fakes. Don be so skeptic of everyone. Reall it doesnt take a PSA, GAI or JSA to tell me a autograph is real. Fakes tell on themselves.
DID YOU EVER THINK FOR A SECOND THAT THE SELLER BOUGHT A AROD BALL AND THEN SIGNED THE JETER AUTO ON IT........I FOUND A SELLER WHO DID THAT WITH BONDS AND MAYS AND THE ONLY REASON HE GOT CAUGHT IS THE MAYS INSCB THAT WAS ON THE BALL HAS NEVER BEEN ON A DUAL SIGNED BALL....
REALSPORTS IS A GOOD FREIND ON MINE......JSA COA MEANS ANOTHER DEALER PAYED JSA TO WATCH THERE ITEMS BEING SIGNED.....DOESNT MATTER WHAT SIGNING IT CAME FROM
For everybody that praises the almighty PSA DNA, JSA, GAI look at the article I found on them at www.autographalert.com/news It is just as I suspected, none of these people are experts. It is just who the public THINKS is telling the tuth. None of these people have formal training. Everybody goes around dropping names Like Shady Spence, Mike Ag-whoever and so on and they dont know what they are talking about. GAI has a 24 year old kid authenticating and he has ZERO training. These companies are after money. Just as I said before. I wondered why my all authentic Jerry Rice Jersey was called A fake. Now I can CLEARLY see why. Why dosent PSA announce on their webpage that they have paid hundreds of thousands because of fakes they passed off as legit? Why dont they announce how their stock as dropped from $20 and change to $13 on wall street. Why dont J Spence announce how he passed off THOUSANDS and thousands of fakes with Letters of Authenticity bearing his signature? These are the experts huh? Yeah right.
No one is infallible. Until there is a better system(i doubt there will ever be one) we try to rely on others. I have no misconceptions that any individual is 100%. I guess i am trying to say the only 100% way of determining the legitamacy of a item is to watch the athlete or star sign it with your own two eyes.
The interesting fact about this ball is that Derek's signature isn't on the COA. I've seen literally hundreds of other Derek Jeter fake autographs go for a lot more. It's really strange the mentality of the general public of buyers on Ebay of autographs; just last night a Derek Jeter 2000 Fleer Gamers Lumber Autographed Bat card went for a paltry $95.00 while at the same time Jeter fake autograph baseballs, photos, etc. were going for a higher price. Incredble! I recall the end of last year just before my HBO interview I put up my Derek Jeter 2000 Fleer Gamers Lumber Autographed Bat Card up against a Jeter autographed photo that was an obvious fake. My card went for $105.00 while the fake autograph went for $122.00. And I still have the hard-copy of that fake autograph auction. It's almost as though the auction sites have turned into a junk yard for fake collectibles. Incredible!
Check out the fake autograph items from seller k_dawg1869 on Ebay. Those are horrible fakes.
Check out the autograph items from seller Auctionspottulsa. They have 5 Jeter's that are all fake.

That is a peyston manning from auctionspot. it says it is a steiner item, which we all know is real. IS this item real??
That seller, Auctionspottulsa, seems to be selling a combination of authentic and fake autograph items. Their Jeter autograph items are very suspicious. I did forward five of their Jeter items to Ebay's Safe Harbour and a few other items. There seems to be a trend these days for many of the "bad guys" to have their fake autograph items sold by "brokers" such as a "ISoldit" store. I've caught many "ISoldit" stores selling fake autograph items and complained to Ebay about it and they seemed to have taken the appropriate action. The truth is no matter how much effort we put forward to take out the "bad guys" they will always be there in one form or another but we must continue to be vigilant.
The Derek part of the graph does not look real. It should be longer, if that makes sence.
Could someone please explain why they think that the Jeter autograph is questionable? Which characters or letters look off?
Whenever I look at autographs on Ebay I see minor differences, but I'm never certain if those are significant, since every signature is different. They all pretty much look the same to me, except for the really bad forgeries. Thanks to whomever can help.
The logical question here is:
If A-Rod is signing balls for his own company, why does Jeter get the sweet spot? That alone might make you wonder...
I have seen plenty of Jeter balls, and none of them looked this messy. Either Jeter's hands were extremly tired that day, or this is fake. Jeter never gets tired! And why does it make a difference. If you really want it to be insured real, then go to another athenticator.
