Spring Training Jeter Autograph?

Do you trust spring training autographs? No doubt players sign things at spring training. However, this is also a great explanation to pass off fake autographs. We don't have enough info to tell on this one so we will turn again to our great resource of sports collectors who read this blog to shed some light on this one. Click the title link above to see the auction.

I forwarded this fake Derek Jeter autographed baseball to Kelly and I've been complaining to Ebay about the seller of this item. I also just learned that the seller of this item is "No Longer A Registered User" on Ebay. And to think that someone paid $122.00 for this fake autograph of Derek Jeter.

I dont know how to foward auctions to all authentic, so if someone can tell me how i would appreciate it. Check out this guy on ebay, user name wilesassociates, every item he has up is fake, and read his clever little description to try to get around his guilt. let me know what everyone thinks.

Yes, that Ebay seller with a ID of Wilesassociates has been selling all fake autographs. I've been complaining to Ebay about them. Their items are simply horrible. Why anyone would bid on them is beyond me. In their item description their so-called "disclaimer" is that "I did not obtain these autographs in person...." That's as bad as the sellers who write "I am selling off my collection of autograph items after 20 years of collecting." Yeah right. Don't fall for it.

theres some pretty interesting posts in this blog..i read serval and noticed that ALL AUTHENTIC posts a lot about rice and montana.i have to disagree with some of what you wrote about the use of the montana hologram and the 'FLASH 80"hologram.i got a large amount of wholesale in the back room of bertos(joes agent) show in new jersey last year from montana and i didnt get any holograms(joes or triumph)even asked joe who ive known for some years could i get them and he said no holograms today...the same was the case for the 100 pieces i got of franco harris at his show 2 weeks ago.no steiner holo and even asked the little kid steiner sent out to count for franco and he could of cared less.so i just wanted to get my point across that just because you have done signings with them dont think things go that way all the time.its how you would like to think they go and its how it should go but thats not allways the case.mounted memories signings a while back i got 300 pieces between 2 of there exclusive players and couldnt even buy holograms from them.just bought 20 rice jerseys without holo's from a guy i know there the real deal

That seller, "Wilesassociates" is "No Longer A Registered" user on Ebay so it looks like Ebay caught up with them.

The ebay name is 2004senod2004 and they are no longer a registered user

You can forward suspect items to sales@allauthentic.com

Regarding the post about Montana and Rice holograms, you are correct about this, however, when you are spending that much money on autographs they should give you holograms. If they don't give them to you on the spot, they should give them to you later...holograms are good for everyone (especially Joe & Jerry's holo)

Here's another seller that I've complained to Ebay about: Theteeshirtshack1. They are another one of those collecters who has "after 8 years decided to sell their collection."

Hey I just copied the name of autos I was looking at and look it is "theteeshirtshack1" Their autos looks fake because every striation looks the same and all of the autos were used with thick pens. Seems fishy that all of the autos would be used with thick sharpies and a lot look really messy.

Here are a few of their listings:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Derek-Jeter-Randy-Johnson-AUTO-MLB-Cards_W0QQitemZ8795113853QQcategoryZ73396QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.com/Jim-Edmonds-Scott-Rolen-AUTO-MLB-Cards_W0QQitemZ8795113877QQcategoryZ73396QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The Edmonds one looks really "f-ed" up.

I think I found a worse Jeter auto. This is unfortunate. Seller is called easysellauction. Must be easy sales since they are forging!
