Several eBay User Id's?

This auction was sent to us by one of our readers and it appears that this seller uses multiple user id's to sell things on eBay. There is nothing wrong with that in general, however we have noticed several fake sellers who use multiple eBay names so it is hard to track them. Here is a close up of the Julius Erving picture they are selling:

Ebay basically told me that they're not responsible for their sellers and they have no first hand knowledge of the items and that if I don't pay and the seller files a no-pay claim that my account will possibly be suspended or whatever their punishment is. Only mistake I made was believeing these yahoos were selling real signatures. Of course they all claim that they are real, but I'm not sure and now I'll probably not be allowed to bid on anyitems on ebay, which kind of sucks.

On another note, I just got the item I had already paid for and I'm going to go to the local sports shop and see what they say about it.

I feel ebay just turns a blind eye to this and would rather you not bother to tell them.

I collect Julius Erving memorabilia and am familair with this seller. I would often see similar Erving autos on magazine pages, so I started keeping track of the selling IDs.These are his eBay IDs that I know of: babydops, shamrockdaddy, jazzysjunque, hauntedhistory666, supershef and fightingjoehooker . You'll notice that he now only seems to be selling autos using the last 2 IDs, which have much lower feedback, in terms of volume. I have at least 10 saved photos of his prior Erving auto auctions, along with the auction number. As you can see, he sells his items pretty cheap, takes down his photos after the auction ends and doesn't refund postage. I spoke with someone who bought one of his items and the fellow said, "Yeah, I figured it might be fake, but it was cheap." I guess the low prices certainly keep buyer's remorse to a minimum. Even if someone returns an item, he's going to make a little on the postage anyway. One day I looked thru a bunch of his completed auctions, back when he left the pics up. I found JFK, Pope John Paul II, and even a Heller Keller auto. True story. I'm sure many of his autos are legit. But I'm also sure many are fake.
As an Erving collector, if I could have access to multiple Dr. J. autos, I'd be getting jerseys, posters, original photos, basketballs, etc. signed. Not pages ripped out of old magazines. But he offers a COA :o)

Unfortunately, many people who are looking to collect authentic autographs usually learn the hard way about the fake autograph memorabilia industry by unknowingly buying fake. So look at the money you spend as part of your education. But, you could also send your item and get it authenticated, and when it comes back as "not authentic" you can demand your money back. And yes, many of "those" types of sellers on all the auction sites use several ID's. When I performed my investigation I discovered rings of crooked sellers that weren't actually rings but one person with 7-10 auction ID's. Another thing I learned was that many of those who sell fake autographs actually use that money to purchase authentic autograph items. And I discovered this by going into their feedback history and looking at their purchases. Do your homework!!!

On eBay, the seller lakeshow2 has many Mitchell & Ness jerseys for quite cheap. Does anyone know if this seller is reputable? Lakeshow2 is a power seller, but seems to good to be true. That means it usually is. Thanks.

I have never been a fan of GAI and I posted a previous comment explaining why. I'd like all of you to check out Ebay Item Number 8813194972 and I want someone to convince me that the autograph on that baseball bat is Derek Jeter's. No way!

WOW, THAT JETER BAT IS HORRIBLE. HOWEVER, ON GAI'S DEFENSE, NOTICE HOW THE CERTIFICATION CARD IS "MISSING" ONLY THE STICKER CAN BE FOUND ON THE BAT. IS IT POSSIBLE HE/SHE MAY HAVE REMOVED A STICKER AND PLACED IT SOMEHOW ON THIS OBVIOUS FAKE???

Lakeshow2 is good. I've bought from them. But often, they only have the huge sizes listed on ebay.

I previously posted a comment in reference to a Derek Jeter autographed bat that was (?) authenticated by GAI. I emailed GAI today about that autograph and will post their reply here. In no way is that autograph Derek Jeter's.

I just checked out item number 8815103829. The seller of that fake autograph item used to sell a ton of fake autographs and looks like they are back. I forwarded my complaint to Ebay's Safe Harbour.
