This is one of those auctions that is interesting to look at buy not buy until PSA quick options it. I think it is legit based on the signatures that are more common - Jeter, Clemens, Rivera... might have been a gift to a sponsor or family member of someone in the organization. Balls like this are common from the 40's-70's. It's a shame there is no provenance.
With all due respect to the previous comment, that is in no way Derek Jeter's autograph. If you look close enough, it looks like every autograph was done by one person.
I also wanted to mention that the reason I know that this team-signed baseball is fake is because I know where the ball and the signatures originated from. This came from an old (and now booted) Ebay seller who sold a ton of fake team-signed baseballs like this and they also sold a ton of fake autographed "500 Homerun Club" and "3000 Strikeout" baseballs. I looked back at some old notes and photographs and matched it up immediately.
Kelly, I'd like your readers to check out the ton of fake autograph cards from seller "baseballdome." Simply horrible.

AFTER A BRIEF LOOK OF THE SIGNATURES ITS CLEARLY A FAKE TEAM SIGNED BALL.EVEN THOUGH MANY OF THE AUTOGRAPHS INCLUDING JETERS(NO MATTER WHAT THIS SO CALLED JETER EXPERT SAYS)LOOK VERY SIMLAR TO THERE AUTHENTIC SIGNATURES THERE IS ONE COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALLMOST EVERY SINGLE AUTOGRAPH.YOU CAN TELL ALLMOST EACH SIGNATURE HAS A STOP OR START POINT WHERE A LOT OF PEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED.YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE THICK BLUE POINTS FROM THE PEN BEING PRESSED TOO HARD ON THE SIGANTURES.JETERS FOR EXAMPLE LOOK AT THE START POINT THE PEN IS PRESSED TO HARD.LOOK AT MANY OF THEM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SIG'S THERE THICK TRACES OF INK.KEEP IN MIND ATHLETES KNOW NOT TO PRESS TO HARD AND JUST SIMPLY FLOW THROUGH THE SIGNATURES WITH EASE SINCE THEY SIGN THEM ON A REGUALR BASES.A FORGER CANT SIMPLY FLOW ON A HARD SIG AND WHEN YOU SEND SOMETHING TO PSA THEY PUT IT UNDER THE MICROSCOPE AND VIEW ALL THE START AND STOP POINTS AND WITH SOME MANY ON THE SAME BALL I WOULD BET THE HOUSE IT WAS BAD.HOWEVER I WOULD LIKE TO VIEW THE BALL IN MY HAND BECAUSE THE PICTURES ARENT VERY CLEAR
With all due respect to the previous, I have never called myself a "Jeter expert." I use common sense and one other point: From my years of investigations I know exactly where that fake Yankees team-signed ball originated from. Also, one of these days I'd like to see a name in front of these comments instead of "Anonymous."
Hey - I'll tell you what. I collect everything from the St. Louis Cardinals - and I have about one auto each of every superstar alive - and many dead ones. I would not buy a Yankees ball because I'm not a fan, but a few of those sigs look pretty darned good...enough to fool a non-Yanks collector like myself. Chris - thanks for clarifying. Knowing the seller makes a lot of difference...and knowing when to send the auction to PSA for the quick option service is the deal sealer or breaker. And that's what my original comment was headed toward. If you are not sure, ask an expert first.
THE WAY YOU TALK ABOUT JETERS SIGNATURE YOU ACT LIKE YOUR THE JETER EXPERT SO THATS WHAT YOULL GET OFF OF ME AND WHY DO YOU WANT A NAME TO APPEAR FOR ME ON THIS BLOG??DOES THAT MAKE WHAT I SAY ANYMORE CREDITABLE?
