Albert Pujols Game Used Bat?

This eBay seller is claiming that this bat was obtained right after the 2006 World Series ceremony and the seller also includes a picture of their ticket to the ceremony. Does this look like Pujols signature?

Thanks for posting this Kelly and Chris. The seller of this garbage is none other than JDaddy05, who seems to have an endless supply of Pujols signatures, game used bats, batting gloves and everything else. I live in St. Louis and was at the event that the ticket displayed was for...and Albert DID NOT sign any autographs while on the field - and he left with a police escort...so nothing outside either. I thought I stopped him a while back, but it looks like he is doing it again. Folks, if you see a Pujols bat and you want to know if it is authentic, go to Birdbats.com - Jeff Scott is a new friend of mine. We have talked plenty about the many fake gamers out there....DO NOT BUY A MIZUNO PUJOLS GAMER!!!Peace.

Again it is amazing that people bid on garbage like this. But I'd also like to address another subject and that is the idea that the owner of this blog (Kelly) is using this blog as a way of "scaring collectors" into buying his authentic autograph pieces. Well nothing could be further from the truth. First of all, aside from the usual ads that you find on every type of website, Kelly has never even tried to sell me anything. This blog is here so that we can try to educate new and old collectors about the pitfalls of collecting autograph items; and that pitfall is the attraction of cheap, fake autographed memorabilia on the auction sites. For some weird reason people think that just because a autograph item is on Ebay that it must be authentic and nothing could be further from the truth. Kelly has given us a forum in which to educate the public about those type of scams, and unfortunately there are more fakes on the auction site than authentic autograph items. Kelly has allowed us to reveal those sellers who continuously sell fake autograph items day after day. I am on this blog at least three times a day and you won't read anything on any of these "posts" or "comments" where Kelly uses them to promote his own inventory of authentic autographed memorabilia. And here's the irony of all this; rather than the sellers of fake autograph items being the target of collectors wrath, it's people like Kelly, Bigtruck and myself that are the targets and that I find ironic. Another irony is that Ebay would love for me to "go away" but you don't see them "push away" the sellers of fake autographed memorabilia. It takes quite a bit of courage for anyone to stand up for waht is right and to show what is wrong, and for that I commend Kelly for having the courage to have this website. And we will continue to expose those who continually rip-off collectors.

I also wanted to get back to the seller of this really horrible fake Albert Pujols autograph. Did anyone who bid on this awful fake look at the fake that at the same time this auction was running that seller (Jdaddy05) had 5 other fake autograph Albert Pujols up at the same time? Did anyone who bid on his fake autograph items have the common sense to ask how he could possibly own and acquire those items he had up for auction? No, they just assume because it is on Ebay, and because it comes with a COA (a fake, too) that it must be authentic. Nothing could be further from the truth. Here's a obvious fake autographed Jeter (Item Number 280046868912) that is over $100.00 as of this writing. Why are people bidding on that garbage. Or item number 150055871767? These are just two of the obvious fakes that are running now. Education is the only way because the powers-that-be have no intention to removing fake autograph items like that.

I would also like to comment that none of us here promote or "push to sell" our own items. I don't have a website and I don't sell alot. I sell some stuff so that I can buy other items that I wish to own. It is nbot a business for me as I am a "true collector." I have never mentioned my Ebay ID or the items I sometimes have up for bid. I spend my own money on "Quick Opinion" reports and my own free time doing this personal investigation because the integrity of "collecting" has been compromised by the rash of crooked sellers not only on the auction sites but at various card shows, too, and Bigtruck will confirm that, as he goes to many card shows in his area and he fumes at all of the Albert Pujols fake autograph items that are being hawked.

I always email the sellers of various autograph items that I look at and many of the sellers of the fake autographs reply that my emailing to them "is a form of harrassment and could get me booted" from Ebay. Ebay considers itself a "Open Forum" which in itself also gives me the right to use that "Open Forum" to ask pertinent and direct questions about the item. What they (Ebay) is saying with the "Open Forum" thing is that we are all taking a risk when we bid on a item, especially a autograph item. In essence what I'm stating is that the "Open Forum" category works on both sides of the street.

Check out Item Number 280046868912. That garbage went for $144.00. Is that sad or what? Imagine bidding that high for an obvious fake like that when they could have had a Steiner Sports Jeter autographed baseball for about $50.00 more. Incredible.

Chris -

If the sellesr of bugis material feel that I am harassing them,so be it. In all actuality, I AM. I want them feel pressure, and know that not everyone on eBay is an idiot. IF they let eBay know about it, fine. If I get booted, fine. I will find another outlet for trading...I am like you, I only sell so that I can buy other stuff. AND - if I get booted with 500+ buyer and seller feedback at 100%, it is bab business for eBay and they deserve to lose a dedicated volunteer like myself. That guy Superby65 that you mentioned ealier told me to "be wise" and made it sound like he was in the Mafia. I have had other sellers get defensive when I ask how they acquired certain items - AND NEVER ANSWER MY QUESTION. As far as I am concerned, I use EBay for legal and legit purposes...it also prevents me from going to a local trade show with a bullhorn and destroying a table full of bunk merchandise that was purchased from....you guess it - eBay.

Well said. Bigtruck. If Ebay ever booted me for asking questions to these unscrupulous sellers I would take my 8 inches of notes from my investigations and take it big time. Now wouldn't that be ironic, "taking down the good guys to protect the bad guys." That seller "supRBY65" was trying to "sound" the same way to me, Bigtruck. I love when these guys threaten. Lets me know they are now on the defensive and are concerned. It's just too bad that they aren't worried about Ebay booting them, because they know Ebay won't.

"ALLAuthentic has NOTHING to do with targeting any companies or with trying to get people to buy our stuff."

... yeah right... why dont you post another pic of a fake Jerry Rice ball and post a link right under it saying... "oh and heres a real Jerry Rice ball!!" (price- $259.99) ... the real problem is people and companies like you that inflate the price of this crap (when rice was playing, I could spend 2 hours at the hotel and get 2 or 3 autos from him... let alone at golf tournaments now.... and sell them for $100 each and make about $120 an hour for my time.. not bad... but noooo only $260 Jerry Rice footballs are real!) so much that people looking to save money WILL go on ebay and spend $50 on a fake Rice football becuase you price them out of the real thing but having a "contract" with them to pay them $100 a autograph so you can make $150 on the sale and screw everyone else. Anyone who complains about the fakes on ebay needs to blame the big corporate companies first... if they wouldnt be tring to make a killing ($260 Jerry Rice footballs!), they could offer items at a reasonable price.. like the honest sellers on ebay and still make a living.

How can anyone even think about blaming the sports corporations for the influx of fake autographed memorabilia and cards on the auctions sites. First of all, auction sites (example Ebay) do not check on the legitimacy of autograph items before they go up for auction. But when you have people like me submitting reports to them about "bad sellers who are selling 110% fake autograph items" and when those reports are ignored then "they" are giving those "bad sellers" a license to sell fake autograph items. If a citizen reports a robbery in progress and the police ignore it then in essence they are giving the crook a license to go through with their theft. When you have sellers who are selling fake autographs items on a daily basis, putting up hundreds of them on a weekly basis (and the autograph items aren't UDA, Steiner, MM, Tri-Star, Topps, etc.) are you going to tell me that doesn't raise a FLAG! What do the corporations have to do with that? If the athletes really signed all of those items that you see on the auction sites they wouldn't have time to do anything else. And yet these "bad sellers" claim " we go down to spring training every year and pick up our supply of autograph items." That is a bunch of BS. And yet they happen to sell hundreds all year round. You mean to tell me that Derek Jeter is going to sign all that stuff for free for those hundreds of "bad sellers." Think about it.

I know that many people that post here feel as though PSA and GAI 0r Spence are worthless, but if I was selling a Jerry Rice sig that I got at a golf tourney, I would have a sticker on it saying that another source...other than me thinks it is real. If you are a seller of non Steiner, MM or TriStar merch, then you should probably have it sent to PSA, etc. So that A. Your items will sell for FAR more and B. So that people do not accuse you of selling forgeries. I paid Steiner $500 for a McGwire auto ball because I wanted to make sure I was getting a true Sweet Spot signature that I could pass on to my son as genuine. I wonder how many people have things locked in safes and in cabinet displays that occasionaly wonder if what they have is real. My first ebay purchase was a $20 AROD signed photo...I learned the hard way.

I've never really wondered about that, Bigtruck, as I am certain that there are millions of pieces of fake autographed memorabilia, cards, etc. that are sitting in dad's safe waiting to be passed down. Just think of all those buyers who bought from sellers like "usa4nate" who sold over 2500 fake autograph items, or seller "onlinesportsautographs (his new ID is 'onlinesportsnmore')" who sold over 7500 fake autograph items, etc. Incredible.

I belife that all people on Ebay are selling loads of fake assigned photographs and autographs and pre print autographs on ebay, they sign it themselves and make it look real, I had 12 fake autographs in the pass and they were all pre printed and fake

I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF PUJOLS FOR ALONG TIME AND HAVE AQUIRED SEVERAL AUTO'S OF HIS IN MEMORABILLIA AND ON CERTIFIED AUTO BASEBALL CARDS. ONE THING ABOUT PUJOLS HE HAS A VERY DISTINCTIVE AUTO AND ARE VERY SIMALIAR THROUGH THE YEARS BUT I HAVE SEEN DIFFERENT AUTO'S OF HIS THAT ARE CERTIFIED THROUGH TOP AGENCIES. ANYONE SHOULD KNOW HIS AUTOGRAPH. ONE MORE THING HE DOES NOT SIGN THAT MUCH IT'S OBVIOUS!

the signature on this bat does look like the signature i have on several of my items that were given to me by pujols wife from working at busch stadium. so the person who is autographing these is doing a good job. the a is a little off, so is the s but other than that looks almost identical to all my autographed material :)

anyone know where to get some things appraised so i can sell some of these items?

I own several Pujols items that are JSA authenticated and I would say this is not a real autograph the "A" is way off. If you want to compare to some real autographs feel free to view my site at www.omniauctions.com
