The seller of this obvious fake autographed baseball is "zeke43098." This guy is selling a ton of fake autograph items all the from Derek Jeter to Sandy Koufax to the item posted here. People are actually bidding on that garbage. I'm wondering how these people sleep at night.
During the last 24 hours seller "fansindastands" put up 134 fake autograph items on Ebay. He puts up 1-day auctions and now he is making all of his auctions "Private" so that we cannot warn the wannabe collectors that they are bidding on fake items. I once again wrote to Ebay about this guy but Ebay has basically given this seller (fansindastands) a license to sell fake autograph items. Is this incredible or what!!!
THis ball to Steiner is worthless and they would use it for a stickball game in the parking lot. The forgery business is about using a little money possible to generate many dups and a lower wholesale cost so thgat they can sell in bulk. 5 dozen Franklins are 1/8 of the price of OML Baseballs...should be the first clue.
By the way, the Item Number for that fake autographed baseball is 160048283510. He claims that the COA is from "Phat Graphs." Who the heck is that? I will tell you who it is. Another fictitious COA from a fictitcious company.
I remember last year going to a show at the Freehold Mall in NJ and being amazed at the number of dealers who were selling a ton of NY Yankees autographed baseballs (mainly Jeter and Arod) and I recognized immediately that they came from Ebay (they were all fake). I asked the dealer how he acquired his autographed baseballs and he admitted he bought them all on Ebay cheaply and was selling them for triple his purchase price. He had a total of 73 and when I informed him that they were all fake he said "they looked good to him." Then I asked him "how could he possibly think a $50.00 Jetyer autographed baseball was authentic," he replied "they sell." And they were obvious fakes and people were buying them. But his source was Ebay. And that's just one dealer.
"ALLAuthentic has NOTHING to do with targeting any companies or with trying to get people to buy our stuff."
... yeah right... why dont you post another pic of a fake Jerry Rice ball and post a link right under it saying... "oh and heres a real Jerry Rice ball!!" (price- $259.99) ... the real problem is people and companies like you that inflate the price of this crap (when rice was playing, I could spend 2 hours at the hotel and get 2 or 3 autos from him... let alone at golf tournaments now.... and sell them for $100 each and make about $120 an hour for my time.. not bad... but noooo only $260 Jerry Rice footballs are real!) so much that people looking to save money WILL go on ebay and spend $50 on a fake Rice football becuase you price them out of the real thing but having a "contract" with them to pay them $100 a autograph so you can make $150 on the sale and screw everyone else. Anyone who complains about the fakes on ebay needs to blame the big corporate companies first... if they wouldnt be tring to make a killing ($260 Jerry Rice footballs!), they could offer items at a reasonable price.. like the honest sellers on ebay and still make a living.
The other irony is that many of those dealers who sell at the card shows know exactly what they are buying on Ebay because they know that the majority of the fakes on Ebay are cheap enough so that they can mark it up three times their purchase price and sell it. So you could say that the auction sites are a wholesale source for the fake autographed memorabilia business. Think about it.
So what is so wrong with posting a photo of a fake autograph item (whether it be a Jerry Rice or a Derek Jeter) so that people have an idea what the heck is going on out there. And the owner of this blog (Kelly) has every right (even though he doesn't do it blatantly because he wants to keep this blog at a objective level) to show people that if you want the "real thing" you have to pay for it. I will agree with the fact that corporations are a factor because of the high cost of signing athletes to autograph contacts but that isn't the reason that the auction sites have turned into a major whoesale source for the fake autograph memorabilia industry! That problem lies with the auction sites for giving them a license to sell their fake autograph items. If those crooks were removed then you would see the sellers of legitimate autographed memorabilia get a fair price for their items. And that's where the problem lies. I will have more to write about this later.....
How can anyone even think about blaming the sports corporations for the influx of fake autographed memorabilia and cards on the auctions sites. First of all, auction sites (example Ebay) do not check on the legitimacy of autograph items before they go up for auction. But when you have people like me submitting reports to them about "bad sellers who are selling 110% fake autograph items" and when those reports are ignored then "they" are giving those "bad sellers" a license to sell fake autograph items. If a citizen reports a robbery in progress and the police ignore it then in essence they are giving the crook a license to go through with their theft. When you have sellers who are selling fake autographs items on a daily basis, putting up hundreds of them on a weekly basis (and the autograph items aren't UDA, Steiner, MM, Tri-Star, Topps, etc.) are you going to tell me that doesn't raise a FLAG! What do the corporations have to do with that? If the athletes really signed all of those items that you see on the auction sites they wouldn't have time to do anything else. And yet these "bad sellers" claim " we go down to spring training every year and pick up our supply of autograph items." That is a bunch of BS. And yet they happen to sell hundreds all year round. You mean to tell me that Derek Jeter is going to sign all that stuff for free for those hundreds of "bad sellers." Think about it.
if whoever left all that negative feedback for "baseballdome" is on this board, i wish you would please do the same for "fansindastands" his feedback score def. needs some damage done to it, also it would be awesome if he was exposed to all his customers. if i wasn't already busted once for having multiple user names, i would do it myself
I just noticed all the "negative feedback" for seller "baseballdome." Thanks for the update, J-Man. Ebay has been informed many times by numerous people that he's been selling thousands of forged cards, and his feedback proves it, and yet he is still a "Registered" user. Sure makes you wonder doesn't it...although there isn't much to wonder about.....is there..
Dear "Anonymous" -- if you spend any time reading our blog you will find that there are a lot more factors involved to questionable autographs than someone saying they got it in person. We have obtained autographs in person too, but we tell you the exact date we got it and, probably the most important thing, the signature actually looks like the athlete's. We have sat next to Jerry Rice, Willie Mays, Joe Montana and several others and have watched them signed hundreds of autographs so we know what their autograph looks like.
Now, is it better to purchase from a company who has a contract with the athlete? Of course it is, because it ends up being worth more when you resell it -- that is common sense. Imagine trying to resell a ball and saying "I got it from a guy who says he got it in person from the athlete? Would you pay more for that or a Steiner or Upper Deck COA?
This blog is written for the consumer -- with the end consumer's best interest in mind. That is why you see the high quality comments from our readers with expert knowledge regarding autographs. They are not promoters of ALLAuthentic nor do they try to sell their own product, they are concerned with the amount of fake autographs that are still on the market and they take their valuable time to post their opinion for others to read.
Thank you for posting to our blog and we do encourage you to keep posting to it as we like to hear different opinions.
Very well written, Kelly. That's exactly what many of the readers of this column do not understand. We are here for the sake of the "true collector." There is not one instance where any of us have promoted ourselves or attempted to sell our memorabilia. We are simply sick and tired of the bad sellers who are "allowed (yes, allowed and given permission)" to sell their fake autograph items. We are sick of sellers like "baseballdone," "fansindastands," "norcalgraphs," "jdaddy05," "mik0087," and the hundreds of others who sell outright and 100% fake autograph items everything from cards to bats to helmets to jereys. And like I've stated many times before, I blame the buyers as much as I do the sellers, because without the buyers the bad sellers would go out of business. Example: A seller over the past year sells over 100 Ben R. autographed footballs, over 100 Eli/Peyton/Archie Manning autographed footballs, over 100 Dan Marino footballs, and that doesn't raise a red flag to the potential buyer!!! How about using some common sense out there you buyers of fake autographed memorabilia. Just because it is on Ebay and comes with a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA) doesn't mean that everything is honky-dory. As a matter of fact, nothing could be further from the truth. The bad sellers have a field day on the auction sites because they know, for the most part, nothing will happen to them. And the irony is the auction site would prefer I "go away" before the bad guys go away. What's wrong with this picture!!! Last night an aquaintance of mine was still questioning the fact that over 70% of the autogrpah items on Ebay are fake. I informed him that because of the hundreds of bad sellers selling fake autograph items that the sellers of authentic autograph items can't get a fair price or any price at all for their items. I then reminded him that after looking at his Ebay items that he didn't have one bid on his autehntic autograph items....he didn't reply to me.
i see this board as a way to make people aware of things on ebay that are questionable. i wish i would have known about this board before buying $125 worth of fake signatures. i've been burned before, and the only ones to blame are myself and ebay. ebay for allowing people such as baseballdome and fansindastands continue to sell autographed items, and myself for not doing the research. and while i have been reading this blog for about 2 months now, i have not once seen anyone advertise any of their own merchandise.
Hello J-Man and thank you for your contributions to the blog -- our readers are making a difference because this blog gets ranked very high in Google. We have had people email us because they have done searches for things on Google, seen our blog, and they didn't purchase certain items on eBay due to your responses (especially Chris' contributions to the blog).
The important thing to realize is that we (ALLAuthentic.com) don't make accusations, we simply bring up topics and our readers post responses.
If any company is ever wrongly accused of anything we would like to know. Also, anyone can post to this blog so everyone has a fair chance of responding to anything -- especially if it isn't true.
If we think any company is being unfairly targeted we will correct that as we want this to be a fair forum for everyone.
Thanks again!
Kelly, you make a very good point. We (and I) do not make blind or wild accusations. Over the past two years I have spent over $1500.00 of my own money on "Quick Opinion" reports and countless hours (hours that I've enjoyed). I've also used a lot of common sense, and as a matter of fact, most of my finding are because of common sense, and common sense doesn't cost you a dime. I do this because I truly care. I have no vested interest in exposing the "bad guys." I don't have a website or a business. But the fact is the "powers that be" allow these bad sellers to continue to sell their fake autograph items and not only is it not fair to the people that are trying to sell their authentic autograph items, but these bad sellers are committing acts of fraud. There was a case recently involving Brett Favre items that were fake and that seller is going to jail. I will be working on contacting the State Justice Depts. of the states where many of the sellers reside. There is a very simply way of revealing where these sellers reside (I won't reveal my method here). And a message to the bad guys: My work is just beginning. Amid all the threats I am still here....and I'm not going away.
I'd also like to make another point. Don't be fooled or impressed by the title of "Power Seller." Many of the bad sellers have that title because they have sold thousands of items, of course, their items were and are FAKE AUTOGRAPH items. Being a "Power Seller" is a reference to a number and nothing else.
Nothing makes me madder than walking around a card show in St. Louis and seeing items that I knew were fake when I frist saw them on eBay. WHen I ask the vendor where he got the items he denys me the info...what's wrong there? There is one seller in particular who I think actually sells his fake garbage at the shows and hocks them on eBay too...and his name has been mentioned in this blog. ALso, just becasue someon lists their location in thier eBay profile - it does not mean that is where they are selling from...sometimes it is simply a decoy. For instance, someone has a bunch of Peyton footballs up for auction - he might list his location as Indianapolis. Chris and Kelly - I think it is becoming important to identify those who blatantly shill bid on thier own items...I have seen plenty of this from dealers of fakes too...BTW, I appreciate the comraderie from this site, if anyone has a question about authenticty, it can usually be answered within a day. Not many sites can do that free of charge.
Bigtruck makes a very good point about these "bad sellers" item location. They'll be selling a fake Jeter item and their "item location" is New York, or they'll be selling a fake Michael Jordan item and their "item location" is Chicago, etc. They do that to make you think that they live in proximity of the athletes home base and that's why they were able to acquire their autographs. Again, another deception by the "bad sellers."
Here's another seller on Ebay who is selling 100% fake autograph items. His Ebay ID is: "sportsfanpalace"
Another to be aware of is "sac1979." This guy was caught selling fakes awhile back and just started selling again. I alerted Ebay about this seller but again nothing was done.
Also, I noticed that Ebay removed all of those "negatives" contained in seller's "baseballdome" feedback. Again here's the irony: the feedback placed was probably the wrong way to do it (although he deserved it) but at the same time why doesn't Ebay do anything about the over 2200 fake autograph cards that seller "baseballdome" sold over the past three months. Yes, that seller sold over 2200 fake autographed baseball cards, it was reported to Ebay numerous times and yet nothing was done. I guess that seller has a "license" to sell fake autograph items.
the location of baseball dome keeps changing.. he's bounced from NY to WV to FL
is this item legit? Item number: 300047646717.. there's something about it that seems fishy. if derek jeter is exclusive with steiner, would he be allowed to sign for his charity? it seems reasonable. this signature is on the sweetspot, and i've never before seen a COA issued by Turn 2 Foundation. and i would think that even if he did sign for Turn 2, it would be authenticated by steiner. let me know what you think! thanks
Item number: 330050365519.. this winner even has tamperproof protective shrinkwrap!
Looks like Ebay Item Number 330050365519 is a fake autographed Jeter baseball. Looks like the seller is using a old "Scoreboard" COA with the fake autographed baseball. These "bad sellers" go to all lengths to sell their garbage. Also Ebay item Number
J-man - Chris is the Jeter expert, but I think that Turn 2 Jeter ball is legit.
330050365519 is a bad fake using an old coa but the turn 2 item is a real jeter. it is about 5+ years old but it is authentic. if chris cannot see this then he isnt the jeter expert he says he is.
First of all, I do not consider myself a "Jeter expert." But I will agree that the Derek Jeter autographed "Turn 2" baseball is legitimate and authentic. I will have lots more to write as soon as Kelly puts up the next post.
So I asked gridiron greats for a refund on the David Wright ball and got this response:
"Did you send the David Wright ball back yet? I will issue a refund upon receipt of the ball. Use delivery confirmation to track delivery. They hold all packages at the post office for me."
He wants the fake autograph back! What the hell? What should I do?
Send it back and hang onto your paperwork. The ball is useless to you anyway, right? The last thing you should do is try to re-list it on eBay. We like you to much to talk negative stuff about you.
Here is another terrible fake of Jeter

I can't believe it is a 4x6 photo signed horribly and is at that high of a bid. Ugh.
This is pathetic! Ridiculous fakes and people are so naive when it comes to buying on ebay

As soon as the next item is posted I will have a lot to write about. Please look forward to it. Thank you.

That A-Rod and Jeter photo was awful. I emailed the seller and told him he should research the names and check the spelling before putting sharpie to photo. I mean fro crying out loud, Derek has to freaking D's on this photo. What a complete turd.
I am not sure if this is the place to ask, but I found this site after I just won an EBAY auction for an Authentic autographed Peyton Manning football. The seller has a high rep, accepts returns, and is protected up to $2k - he is a Power seller. His name is pamp1110. The ball is signed in silver sharpie, comes in Wilson box and ther is a COA from Authentic Graphs.com. NOw I went to research this COA publisher but could not find any reference to them on the internet. This made me suspicious. PLus the signature has two tiny smudges and it was supposed to be smudge free. I paid a decent rpice of around $250 for this for my youing son, who wants it real bad. Has anyone ever heard of Authentic Graphs.com - are they for real. Tehre is a picture of Peyton signing some football (not this oe for sure) and the seller says they are the most credible authenticator. I have no clue if this a true reliable COA - an any one give me some advice??? Thanks
I need to correct what I said. pamp1110 is not a power seller. He has 100% feedback but is primarily a buyer. He has sodl on ebay 19 times, and only twice since last Sept, one of those to me. So this guy is not an autograph scammer and I believe he aquired this and has decided to dump it. he probably thinks the Peyto signed footbal is for real. maybe is is. I just did not want to give you all the wrong impression that this guys is a full-time autograph scam artist. That he does not appear to be. He has 100% good feeback - as buyer and as seller. And I think this is first memorabilia he has sold actually (just my hunch). But I still have the question - has anyone ever heard of Authentic Graphs.com, and if there is a small smudeg on the signature (the sharpie is mildy smudged into the grain outside of the top of the letter P in Peyton). Thanks again
fansindastands tried to sell a mini helmet for the monsters of the midway at 51.00. When I looked closely at the "COA" Butkus is signing a full size helmet on the right side, his signature was on the left side of the helmet. If that isn't fake, I don't know what is.
I have 2 items with a coa from authentic graph.com, a dan marino mini helmet and reggie wayne mini helmet. i tried to research them too but couldnt find anything so i called the number on the coa. Someone did actually pick up and was from authentic graphs. he said they were having problems with there website so they are redoing it. i dont know when it will be back up but i am curious. The place where i got it (local card shop) says they are reputable but who knows.
