85 Comments:
This particular Ebay item is a fake autographed baseball of Sandy Koufax and Roger Clemens. This is from seller "zeke43098." This seller began selling fake autographs in November 2006. I do believe he is one of those "copycat sellers" who witnessed the fact that since he saw others getting away with selling fake autographs he decided he would do the same thing. So far my complaints about this seller to Ebay have been ignored. He has been selling all fake autogrpah items of players like Derek Jeter, Albert Pujols, etc. There is also some "suspicious bidding" going on with a few of his fake autograph items. Go check them out (Item Number 160057966418.
Another seller who has jumped on the bandwagon of selling fake autograph items is seller "rcppd." Their autograph items (all 8X10 photos) are obvious fakes.
By the way, if you look at all of the fake autograph items from this seller (zeke43098) it doesn't take an expert to see that all of the autographs were signed by the same person.
I will say this with 100% certainty - the Pujols/Musial ball is a 100% fake, and it is an absoulute shame. Stan's pen has not been very steady sime about 1998, and obviously for this to be legit, it would have been signed 2001-now. Both sigs were isgned by the same person. This listing has been forwarded to the Pujols Family Foundation.
...and shelbygirldog is one of his other usernames- Chris is right, he has been shill bidding, as "shleby" has bids on all of his other items...
In addition to seller "zeke43098" selling their fake autograph items on Ebay, here are few more sellers that are also selling obvious fakes: Grapherman1995, 2004senod2004, rcppd, Onlinesportsnmore (used to be Onlinesportsautographs), pjuice1757, savant01, streetsigned, sportspmania, jdaddy05, fansindastands, and chiali2005.
I also wanted to mention that this is the second fake Sandy Koufax autographed baseball that this seller (zeke43098) is selling. He is also on his second fake Jeter and second fake Pujols. This seller is a prime example of the new "copy cat" seller who has seized upon the opportunity to sell fake autograph items because he has seen the other "bad sellers" get away with it on Ebay. Ebay must take responsibility for their inaction on these "bad sellers."
1. Dear Mr. Anonymous, we have never claimed to be "geniuses,"
2. we just want to rid the industry of the people who intentionally sell forged autograph items.
3. If you think you're going to stop us or dissuade us, then you are sadly mistaken.
4. We will continue our work because it needs to be done.
5. It is very obvious that we are "bothering you bad sellers" and that is a good thing.
6. Do you think your comments are going to make us stop because we are scared of you "bad sellers." You "bad sellers" intentionally sell forged autographs for money and that will not be tolerated any longer.
7. Let me ask you a question, Mr. Anonymous. Should we just allow you guys to continue to sell fake autograph items? Should we just accept the fact that you guys sell fake autographs and that's just the way it is?
8. Tell me, Mr. Anonymous, would you like me to stop so that you can continue to flood the market with your cheap, fake garbage. Please, Mr. Anonymous, tell me what I should do? Thank you."
Awnsers:
1. Good cause your an idiot.
2. ... and your going to do that on The "all authentic" blog? :-P
3. ... no I'm just going to trick you into making a stupid post.
4. Yes, PSA called... they said send more quick opinon money.
5. You get "bad sellers" banned and then they pop back up a week later with a new ID! Your a minor hassel to them.
6. No, I'm going to come on here and laugh at you.
7. No, you should whine about it all day and waste your money on PSA quick opinons.... what are you going to do when they start clicking the auto- pass button on everything again?
8. What you should do is shut up.
9. Your on a website that helped and is helping to create the problem. When the corporations will pay a scrub.. see Shawn Kemp $100 to sign one autograph, he then actually thinks his autograph is worth $100 and won't even sign for kids in-person. Then "All- authentic", "UDA", etc. charges $300 for a Shawn Kemp basketball, so the forgers can come along and sell a fake one for $100 to people trying to save money. The corporations are what help to create the forgery market. You better save this note... all authentic doesnt like anybody bad mouthing thier $300 Shawn Kemp's!!!
That's what I call incredible. A seller of forged autographed memorabilia attempting to justify their actions. You guys don't sell fake autograph items because you think that that the corporations overcharge for the athletes they have under contract, you do it to make a quick, cheap buck. You do it to rip people off. You do it because you have no conscience. You do it because it's an easy living selling 50-75 forged autograph items on a daily basis. You do it because you know, that for the most part, Ebay doesn't care. I find your reasoning for being a crook beyond comprehension. And no, WE will not stop harassing you. Yes, you are right, I get you crooks kicked off one week, and a week later Ebay allows you back on and then I find you again. A good case in point is seller "Onlinesportsnmore" who has sold in excess of 7500 forged autograph items. He was inactive for about 8 months until Ebay allowed him back on to sell his forged autograph items. Or Americansportscollectibles who has sold in excess of 2500 forged autographed footballs and is still active on Ebay. Or seller Baseballdome who sold an amazing 2200 forged autographed sports cards over a 60-90 day period. And you think WE are suppose to just let you guys run amok selling your forged items. You think that your comments and the threats that I've received are going to force me to stop. You guys would love for me to stop, wouldn't you. But I won't stop. That seller who sent me the threatening emails via Ebay's Email system still has not been dealt with from Ebay and it's been over a week now. That seller gave me a ultimatium "to stop or else." I'm still here. I guess Ebay didn't think that the threats against me didn't warrant any action against that seller. You original sellers of forged autograph memorabilia has breeded a generation of "copy cat" crooks due to the inaction of Ebay to take care of the problem. We aren't going away.
Pretty creative post - did you do that while working on perfecting your Tiger Woods sig?
Your post is what I would expect from someone who promotes the sale of fraudulent material to families. You are willing to bad mouth us, but leave the forgers unscathed. That shows what class of person you are.
True, I use quick opinion sometimes - usually as a second opinion. They have no vested interest in whether or not I buy something - and frankly most of the fakes on eBay do not even need a quick opinion...you guys are THAT bad.
In the end, one has to live with himself after he has sold a truckload of fake baseballs, flats and team signed bats. If the risk is worth it to you, keep on doing it, you'll get caught - although it seems like you know the business pretty well...the whole "change my ID thing"..etc.
As far as this blog, it is just an outlet for some of us to alert others. In my home city, we have an entire unit dedicated to busting anyone selling forgeries. I just email the aucitons with Pujols or any other Cards to that unit. If I see someone selling fakes at a show, I let them know...and anyone else within earshot. If someone is bidding on a fake, I email them and send them my email address so that I can show them what a real one looks like. So - this site is not the only way - it is ONE way of helping collectors.
I have a legit full time job - and I make enough money to but a $500 Mcgwire ball and a $300 Pujols ball. I like the fact that they are authenticated, and since it is my money, I WILL BUY IT - and guess what - lots of others will too. Just keep on signing in your house behing drawn shades - you family must be proud of you. Maybe you can move up to a double-wide trailer one day from all of the $20 Jeter photos you sell.
Bottom line is, you are a complete turd if you sell fake autographs to people who work for their money. That's it. If you want to come into this blog, and post here the way you just did - I welcome it, personally, because the only reason you posted is because you are upset. If you didn't care you would ignore it...and If you had any 'nads, you would tell us who you are.
Well said, Bigtruck!!! They hate the fact that we are watching them. They hate the fact that we care enough to do this. I, like Bigtruck, work a full-time job, but we find time to do this because it is necessary and because we care. We don't promote ourselves in our way here. You have to understand there there is something wrong with a person who intentionally steals a person's money by selling them forged autograph items. Selling to a person who thinks they are getting a "collectible" for their son, father, husband, etc. And selling them by the thousands. Shame on you.
Another seller that has beens selling a ton of forged sports items is seller "simemorabilia." His stuff are obvious fakes.
"That's what I call incredible. A seller of forged autographed memorabilia attempting to justify their actions."
What made you think I'm a seller of forger crap? I'm just a passer by looking at the roadside wreck that is your lame posts between the 4 members of this group that actually make you think that you make a drop in the bucket of a difference.
"guys don't sell fake autograph items because you think that that the corporations overcharge for the athletes they have under contract, you do it to make a quick, cheap buck. I didnt say thats why people SELL the forged crap, I'm saying that is why people are always BUYING it because it is CHEAPER than the crap that corporations are ripping people off for... and you know it. UDA could sell Jordan jerseys signed for $600- $800 if they wanted to and still make a profit, but no, they sell them for $1800 and when someone pops up with one for $600, UDA makes it an esy sale.
"I find your reasoning for being a crook beyond comprehension. And no, WE will not stop harassing you. .... again the fact that you have to come on here and whine about it proves your not even a drop in the bucket.
"You think that your comments and the threats that I've received are going to force me to stop. You guys would love for me to stop, wouldn't you. But I won't stop. Again, I didnt threaten you, so go cry somewhere else. Please post more.. you guys are good for great laughs every night. Love, Mr. Anonymous.
As you can see all of seller's Zeke43098 ran to duration which means Ebay didn't take any action (not a surprise) against the seller for putting up additional forged autograph items. "Zeke43098" is one of those new "copy cat" seller of forged autograph items. As much work as we do here unfortunately there are a lot more out there that we don't see. It would be impossible for us to report every fake autograph item on Ebay. But then it isn't our goal to list every seller on Ebay that is selling fake autographs. Our goal is to make collectors aware of all the fake autograph items on Ebay that are up for auction. Of the 100 reports that I may file with Ebay I may only mention a few in this column. We hope that more collectors will read this column and spread the word. The more people we have helping out, the better. We, of course, cannot just sit and do nothing. Another seller of fake autograph items is seller "stoviesports." Really bad fakes, too. And yes, we are making a difference. If I didn't harass Ebay about that ring of "bad sellers" last year they would still be selling their forged autograph items. Sure, they attempted to come back and I will continue to file reports to Ebay should they put up any more fake autograph items. Again I want to say, and I must be repetive; if you notice a seller of suspicious autograph items and then see that they have been selling hundreds of autographs from every athlete from every sport, then that has to raise a flag and a few questions. In the case of seller "Americansportscollectibles," he was selling a ton of forged autograph footballs from the Manning family, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, etc. He sold in excess of 2500 forged autographed footballs. How can anyone not notice that he was selling the same garbage week after week and his item description read "All autographs were acquired either at card/autograph shows or games and events." He must have been driving a 18 wheeler to haul those thousands of footballs. As a matter of fact, he has more fakes up for auction right now.
This is my last comment in regards to the anonymous guy that has decided to post in this blog. First, your commnets are appreciated because some of the things you say are true - such as the statement about the Jordan jerseys. That's fine. My purpose here is to help those who care about what they by before they wast money on a fake...kind of like Consumer Reports. I am realistic in my thinking, and I know that we are not going to change the world overnight...or ever. But, I feel that what we are doing is a good thing, a positive thing for our hobby. If I found this site inadvertently looking for and examply of a fake Pujols autograph, then others are bound to stumble onto it. I am glad that you think it is hilarious that we volunteer our time to help the cause. Frankly, we have a purpose here - you must have nothing in your life better to do than to start "cyber aruguments" SO - with that, I bid you a fond farewell, and I, personally will not address anything you say in this blog after this. Happy Holidays.

I also want you to check on item number 230059513154. This is a fake autographed Derek Jeter baseball from seller "pjuice1757." This is the fourth time that he is selling that same baseball. I have complained to Ebay about this seller and they refuse to do anything. Again, the same question pops up: Why does Ebay allow this seller (Pjuice1757) to sell the same fake autographed baseball over and over again?
At 5:42 PM, j-man said...
looking at pjuice's feedback, one sad thing i saw was the feedback that says "Fast and smooth transaction start to finish. Thanks! My husband is gonna be WOW'd"
I contacted the buyer who said my husband is going to be wow'd to try and warn them to stop buying from that seller since they had done it multiple times. They sent two emails.
Yesterday: All I can say is WHAT?...how do you know they are not real?...who are you?...I've never had anything like this happen...what is PSA/DNA
Today: Ya know what? It's people like YOU who give ebay and what it's trying to do a BAD name. No pride in that!
I just find it really funny that I didn't even reply to how I knew they were fake and they are calling me out for trying to help them. What a douche!
I sent this back to them
So basically you are saying ebay is doing good by allowing trailer park sellers to sell horrible fakes to oblvious fools like you and I am a bad person for trying to stop it. You go ahead and keep on buying horrible forgeries of Tiger Woods for $100 when in reality he has a contract with Steiner Sports and rarely signs for fans. Have some damn common sense to realize no one would be able to own 10+ autographs of Tiger Woods on a golfball, yet alone dual ones with Jack Nicklaus.
As all of you know Mr. Anonymous has been commenting here and questioning why we are intolerant to those who intentionally sell forged autograph items to other collectors. As we read his comments (which we welcome) we also know that "he" is the one that emailed me those threatening Ebay Emails. He claims he didn't threaten me, but those that I forwarded the emails to know that the emails were indeed threatening. He is here commenting because I disrupted his crooked business on Ebay. As he stated in his email to me "I will do what you did to my account." First of all, whoever you really are I didn't do anything to your account (Ebay did) but I am very happy that my emails to Ebay contributed to you being removed or having your fake autograph items removed from Ebay. And judging by your comments you seem to be proud of the fact that you sell fakes. You have no conscience if you have no problem in taking a collector's hard-earned money in exchange for a fake autograph. How many people bought a fake autograph item for their son, husband or boyfriend for Christmas. Does that really make you feel good, Mr. Anonymous (Bill)?" Did you really think your threats were going to have an impact on me? Well you're right, they did, because now I'm going to work even harder at finding you guys and getting all of you removed.
We have a new seller of forged autographed items on Ebay by the name of "childress7777." I would bet my life that they are a old seller who has resurfaced under a new Ebay ID. Check their junk out (Item Number 260059951377).
Looks like seller "Onlinesportsnmore" just put up 80 more fake autograph items. Check out thir really bad Ryan Howard autographed bat (Item Number 330057824511). They must purchase their kicking tees in bulk. They always have up between 7-10 fake autographed kicking tees from various NFL kickers.
Here's another seller we discovered is selling a lot of fake autograph items. The Ebay ID ID is "Samssports1960." Check out Item Numbers 220049672578 and 220049676710.
Check out this seller, sandysells5126. This person has some really bad fakes up. Here's a horrible Ortiz 230058993993, and a Damon 230057964397. If you read the feedback this seller has been called out by a number of buyers for selling fakes.
Check out this guy "rsmizel" he has some pretty bad looking Jeters and some various others. It's odd, one bidder buys nearly everything he puts up. Maybe it's himself trying to establish good feedback, and maybe trying to drive his own prices up with no result? Seems odd. 320038102608
BC, thank you for your reports. We already mentioned seller "rsmizel" a few times here but it always helps to mention them again. Seller "rsmizel" is a seller of forged autographs. "Rsmizel" is the new breed of "copy cat" sellers on Ebay. They see others getting away with selling fakes so now they are doing it. Much of the blame belongs to Ebay for allowing these forgers to run amok on the auction site.
Yep - Rmizel is a true fraud. I especially hate his Cardianls team signed items because they are selling...probably to trusting St. Louisans. I am going to rant here for a minute...
I had a conversation with a local guy who sells some fake autographs mixed in with real ones. I gave him some advice on his autos that I personally had checked by PSA/DNA and were all fake (I already knew they were, the PSA was for proof in case I was called a liar or the usual "know it all, wo knows nothing")
He gave me a big story about how he buys stuff that HE believes is authentic and resells it to get a feel for his market. I got news for ya - if it is not authenticated, it rarely sells for a good price unless someone is shill bidding...in which case other buyers should be smart enough to figure it out. Nothing gets me more than someone who makes excuses for selling fakes - like we don't know the deal. He seemed like a smart guy who was very cordial at first, until he read a post I made here in this blog about him - then he went nuts and accused me of duping him. In an earlier email, I convinced him to send some of his items into PSA quick option - he came back the next day and said that they were rejected and he pulled them. BUT HE SELLS HUNDREDS OF OTHER ITEMS OF THE SAME QUESTIONALBLE AUTHENTICITY. I will not list his name, and if he reads this, he know wo he is. For the record, he never threatened me or called me names, he simply defended himself - albeit with some BS mixed in. It would be nice if some of these sellers got into this board an posted thier thoughts. I know that they have seen it - all they have to do is google thier name and FAKES after it. Heck, Chris lists them by username all day long -Ha Ha. That's it, don't buy fakes guys.
Another seller to watch is seller "Streetsigned." He seems to have an infinite supply of Derek Jeter signed photographs and Yankees team-signed photos with Derek in them. They are really horrible-looking fakes. I filed a few reports to Ebay about him but so far nothing; mainly because they really don't want to getrid of sellers like that. It's all about fees and commissions.
Another seller with a ton of fake autographed photos is seller "weez1999." Just another one of the "copy cat" fake autograph sellers on Ebay.
I have noticed a steady increase in the number of forged Alex Gordon autograph items on Ebay. Seller "$s$autographs" always seems to have 3-4 fake Alex Gordon autographs up all the time. But there are many others also. Remember when Corey Lidle was killed in that plane crash in New York and the very next day a ton of forged Corey Lidle autograph items went up on Ebay. How does one sleep at night doing something like that.
Hello everyone...It's kingjr25...I need some opinions about this one...I was surfing Ebay and stumbled upon this card and I would like to start an open forum on it...The auction # is 130052932170 The reason I am starting this is because if you pay big $$$ for a high end product shouldn't you get what you pay for??? What would cause Topps to make a cut signature exactly that...CUT and PASTED to fit a product...They butchered a Mickey Mantle signature and then cut in between the MA in Mantle to make Mickey fit in between it and then trimmed and rounded the edges to make it all fit...Then they did a poor job of putting it all together and gluing it to the card...What is this card company doing??? To top if off the seller wants a hefty $7,000 for this awful “butchered” signature…Sound off…
Yes, that is surely a butchered Mickey Mantle cut autograph. $7,000? No way. Too sloppy of a cut and paste job. I'd like you guys to check Item Number 110061734941. That is supposedly a "Topps Certified Issue" Co-Signers autograph of Derek Jeter/Scott Rolen. This is a card that Topps refuses to acknowledge. It is a fake. My thought is that back in 1998/1999 someone stole the blank prints of those "Topps Certified Issued" cards and then forged both Derek's and Scott's autograph. There is another one of those out there in which the ink is much darker and those are the authentic ones. But Item Number 110061734941 is a fake. And now get this. This is how I can tell that Ebay wants me to go away. I own one of those cards and I wanted to verify that it was a fake (although it is obvious) so I put it up for auction with the intention of submitting it to "Quick Opinion," getting the report, and then take it down. Well I got the report and I little while later Ebay removed it. But while they removed mine there were two others exactly like mine that were up for auction that Ebay did not remove. When I filed a report with Ebay about the other two fakes Ebay still did not remove them. Here's my point: Ebay would rather see me go away than the bad guys. Because the bad guys make them a lot of money on fees from the bad guys. Why else would they allow sellers like Onlinesportsnmore, Fansindastands, Jdaddy05, Diamondsportslegacy, Pjuice1757, Rsmizel, Savant01, Streetsigned, Zeke43098, Americansportscollectibles and hundreds of others to continue to sell? One day it will bite them in butt.
By the way, if you look at Item Number 220056472830 that is a legitimate 1998 Topps Co-Signers Jeter/Rolen autograph card. For some reason Topps refuses to acknowledge the fake one and to take care of the collectors that own them.
I think this is the worst Jeter/Arod I have ever seen. Neither sig is even close, wow. I reported it to Ebay. 230061114379
looking at 230061114379... either whoever authenticated it at "Autographs of the Game" is legally blind, or it's a fake. hmm i wonder...
You're right, J-Man, that is one horrible fake from seller "sourcreemdreem." Their other autograph items are forgeries also. Thank you for the report, J-Man.
I couldnt resist MR. ANONYMOUS. To think that we/us/them collectivly are not making a difference isn't thinking outside the box. Let me explain a little more. I am a police officer in Indiana. I have jurisdicion over/in the entire state of Indiana also the authority to start a case or investigation in any of the 50 states, that is internet related. With that it mind; Do you think for one minute that I don't do just that? I will admit that at times it can be a tedious process but in the end.....I'm satisfied and in MY world that's what matters. Yes...it can be slow, Yes...it can be time consuming but in the end is a positive result. The problem with Federal law enforcement is they don't want to do the leg work on individuals because of the reasons above reasons. When they start a case it usually involves 5 or 10 people. The super cool part though, is once someone like me does the leg work they are MORE than happy to pick up the rest and get the glory/arrest/stat. All they have to do is take my paperwork, charge the person or make the arrest. The great part about idiots selling forged items on Ebay, is they ship stuff to other states using our country's wonderful mail system, Fedex, or UPS and in return they can be charged federally. Now, I've never been there but I heard that Federal Prisons suck (Read "The Hot Box" Great book about Leavenworth).
So you see sir, it's not that these guys are trying to take on the world, they just care about the hobby enough that they're willing to get rediculed to try and prevent someone else from getting ripped off. I'm not going to win any awards or medals for what I'm doing but....I get the satisfaction of knowing that I've made some dirtbag have a bad day. In turn, that makes me smile. So "IF" you sell fake goodies, I hope you have considered the risks involved because I'm sure it isn't fun when the authorties seize your house, boats, cars and well....all you assests.
Devin
That was quite a powerful comment, Devin, and well written. It's interesting also that seller "Americansportscollectibles" resides in your state. He is the one who has sold in excess of 2500 forged autographed footballs on Ebay. What is somewhat frustrating is that these sellers sell their fakes on Ebay without fear of impunity. A great example of that is seller "Onlinesportsnmore." For the longest time he sold his forged items on Ebay and then he was forced to stop. But recently Ebay allowed him to start selling his forged items again and this is after I emailed them several times. But why should I have to email them about a seller who sold forged autograph items in the past and then resurfaced? Why didn't Ebay flag this seller when he put his first forged autograph item up for auction recently? Why didn't Ebay take any action against the seller who sent me threatening Ebay Emails? Someone recently asked me if I was afraid that Ebay might do something to me for my criticizing them here in this blog? First of all, I know that Ebay reads this blog. Secondly, I have every right to criticize them for allowing these "bad sellers" to sell their forged items on their site. I am actually trying to help them. We are all here to try to help Ebay get rid of these sellers from ripping off thousands of buyers each month. But they don't want our help because the "bad sellers" make them too much money. Yes, that's what it comes down to, money. Why else would they continue to allow those sellers to continue selling. One of those people who sell forged autograph items has written in this blog bragging about the fact that when a "bad seller" is removed (which is rarely done) from Ebay he just signs up with a new account and continues selling his fakes. The seller who emailed me those threatening emails wrote me that "I have 20 accounts to harass you with." I sent that Ebay Email to Ebay Security and yet Ebay has taken no action against that seller. And because of Ebay's lack of action against these "bad sellers" they have spawned a new generation of "copy cat bad sellers" who are popping up all over the place. More later....
i have a question that devin may know the answer to... if ebay knows that a seller is selling fake autographs, which i know they do, would that make them an accessory to the crime? i think ebay is just as liable for allowing it to happen. like if somebody was selling crack out of a property i own, and i had people mail me constantly telling me what is going on, and i just ignored it.. if the police would raid the property, and i am the owner, wouldn't i be in legal trouble? although i would imagine ebay would have the world's top lawyers with all the money generated by listing and final value fees
Excellent point, J-Man, and one that I've brought up many times. Back in 2000 after "Operation Bullpen" was completed Ebay was released of any and all responsibility of those thousands of forged autograph items being sold on Ebay even though they made huge profits from the sales of those forged items. What makes it different this time in my opinion is that collectors like you, Bigtruck, others and myself are filing reports with Ebay and we are telling them of the sellers of forged autograph items. They are not acting on those complaints, and that's the problem. Yes, of course, they know of the sellers that are selling forged autograph items, and by not acting on those complaints they are, in essence, "giving them a license" to do it for the sake of profits.
Mail fraud, wire fraud and/or internet fraud. THe sellers that are listing fakes are breaking numerous laws. If I was a big time seller of REAL stuff like MRAKsports for instance, I might sue eBay. Certainly MRAK would sell more of his legit stuff if guys like Zeke43098 were prevented from listig thier items. As far as I'm concerned, eBay has no out in this one...Many of us have sent fraudulent items to eBay on numerous occasions, only to be ignored and taunted by the creeps who sell fakes. I know that I keep copies of every email I send, and I would be glad to send them in as evidence. Look - I like eBay for what it can be, but it eBay allows fake sigs - what is next? The copycats are amazing. In the past month, I have seen MANY new sellers list fakes, and in large quantities...and they are better than the usual scribbles.

Hi all
Just want to thank you for this blog. I stumbled across it on google when I was looking for a way to find out who the best coa's are issued by for autographed baseballs. I know about Steiners and MM but I wanted to see if Scoreboard was legit and WOW, I found you guys...I buy baseball memorabilia for my fiancee pretty regularly and getting ripped off would really piss me off big time. I now only buy from legit sites and dealers who can authenticate through PSA or have a coa from a known entity. Thanks for all of your hard work ad honesty. I am much more careful on ebay...I never want to give my sweetie a bogus gift. You guys rock!
Check out this Item Number: 330058844501. The seller (Stolle76) claims it is a Buyback autograph card numbered "1/1." I reported this obvious fake to Ebay's Safe Harbour. The extent these sellers of forged autograph items go to amazes me, but then again it doesn't because a lot of the blame falls on Ebay for its lack of action against the sellers of forged autograph items.
Thank you for your nice comments. We are all individuals who simply want Ebay to take these "bad guys" down. We hope that more collectors stumble across this website so that we may try to educate them about differentiating between the authentic autograph items and the fake ones. We have no problem listing the names of the Ebay ID's that WE KNOW are selling forged autograph items. We wish we didn't have to but we have no choice since Ebay is reluctant to take any action.
Check out these really bad forged autograph items of Albert Pujols from seller "jdaddy05." Here they are: 290059145323 and 290059152278. This seller seems to have a infinite supply of Albert Pujols autographed game-used items. Of course, every item has been forged with Mr. Pujols' autograph. Ebay refuses to do anything about his auctions even though I have filed well over teh reports with them.
I don't know if the the seller "ans_autographs" has been mentioned, but this person has a ton of fake Photos up. They are really bad fakes. Here's a link to a real bad Mike Mussina 150067074125, use that link and check all all the others. His auctions are all private and most have really low Buy it Now prices that just scream fake. I reported him to ebay.
Thanks, BC, I also reported him. That seller's forged autograph items are really bad.
Once again Ebay has allowed seller "Americansportscollectibles" to continue selling his fake autographed footballs. Incredible how they continue to allow him to sell that junk. He does have a smart-selling method. He'll mix in his legitimate autograph items with his forged ones. Of course, his Steiner items are high-priced, so when he mixes them with his forged autographed items potential buyers think they are getting a great deal on the cheap fake stuff. He knows his legitimate high-end stuff has a difficult time selling due to all the forged items on Ebay (like the junk he sells) but he is counting on that because he knows his forged items will sell because they are cheap. Yes, I did file another report with Ebay about his specific fake items. It's amazing that all of a sudden he has Tony Romo autographed (forged of course) footballs up for auction.
Another "new" seller who is selling fake autograph items is seller "tradingpost_exchange." Check out their really bad Derek Jeter: 330058891600
check out this pujols ball.. even if it is real, you can order a ball signed by pujols off his website for a lot cheaper, and then send it to psa to be graded, and still not spend as much as this guy wants. or you can wait until fansindastands lists auctions again and probably get one for about $60, except it won't be authentic
i looked at all his his aucitions that had are really bad fakes and this one guy bought like 6 of them
Here's a few other "copy cat" sellers we've discovered: Acesportsmemorabilia, dqbean252 and astrowiggy. As you can see the more we look the more sellers of forged autographed items that we find on Ebay. To tell you the truth Ebay has a major problem and it is a lot worse than I thought it was initially. I have to estimate that between 60%-70% of the autograph items on Ebay are fake and it's probably worse in the entertainment section of Ebay. As of today I have probably filed well over a thousand reports with Ebay on sellers of forged autograph items and hardly any action is being taken by Ebay against these sellers. It's not so shocking any more as we all know why: Money. The sellers of fake autograph items on Ebay are running wild with profits as is Ebay. Shameful!!! By the way, I would like to "thank" everyone for their contributions to this blog. More and more new collectors are joining us here and that is great news.
Ebay user LEECORE1962 is selling numerous fake autographed NFL/BASEBALL items. They are all from authenticgraphs who also sell on ebay and have been selling the same items for over 2 years with an unlimited supply and all with the same printed photograph. All the singature look like the same person/machine. Would love some opinion from the people on this site to give some feedback.
STEELERS STEEL CURTAIN AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED FOOTBALL COA Item number: 190059739259
ELI MANNING AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED NFL FULL SIZE FOOTBALL Item number: 190060273559
I recognized those items immediately. They came from seller Authentic-Graph, Authentic-Graph2 and Authentic-Graph3. Of course, all three of them are the same person. They are all "unregistered" on Ebay except for Authentic-Graph2. Authentic-Graph2 has autograph items that are all authenticated by "GAI" a authenticating company that I do not have much faith in and it has been discussed in this blog. Every Derek Jeter autograph that I've seen authenticated by "GAI" looks fake to me. Evidently the seller of those items purchased them from the "Authentic-Graph" family before they were so-called authenticated by "GAI." I wouldn't buy that junk.
What do you guys think of ebay ID "bigmack625775"?? Has a lot of stuff up constantly! I dunno on this one.
I was looking at those auction from seller "bigmack625775." Although I'm a hockey fan I don't know much about hockey autographs but the baseball autographs are horrible, especially the Jared Weaver and the Robin Yount. He also has a few of Senator Barack Obama whioch are very suspicious. If you look at the baseball autographs (which fools a lot of buyers) is that the sellers of forged autograph items "scribble the autographs very fast." Thank you for that submission. It just goes to show that the more people we have looking the more we will find. I will continue to flood Ebay with reports to rid the industry of the sellers of forged autograph items.
I'd like you guys to check out Item Number 320058231568. It is from seller Savant01 who usually sellins fake autographed mini-helmets. I guess he thought he would make a big score by selling this fake team-signed item. Like I mentioned in my previous comment about the scribbling of the autographs; well check out the autographs on this baseball. They were all done by one person.
WHAT A JOKE A TWO YEAR OLD COULD SEE THAT KOUFAX BALL IS BAD !!
I have purchased some items from GAI in the past - and all the CArdinals items are good. I have seen some strange stuff that passed thier qualifications, so I knid of agree with Chris. In that case, I think some people may have contacts at GAI that let stuff slide if it is sent in bulk - much like PSA has done with the auction houses. Check GOOGLE and type Bill Daniels and PSA lawsuit to find out more...interesting stuff.
...something is not sitting right with this auction - Ebay ID number 260062526721 .
The Pujols signature looks fake - and the description is shady, not to mention he has five baseballs and only lists ONE hologram number.
His choice of words is suspect too. Anyone else's comments would be appreciated.
You make a good point, Bigtruck. There is something very suspicious about that Albert Pujols autographed baseball (item number 260062526721). How can the seller have five (5) of the same Albert Pujols autographed baseball? And if he does have five different autographed Albert Pujols then he should have five different MLB Authentication numbers. Not to mention the autograph does not look like Albert's. Very suspicious auction.
Chris, Did you PSA quick opinon any of Bigmack625575's items? I was looking at the Yount ball myself and sent it to Quick Opinon and it came back as good today.
I was about to submit two of his auctions to Quick Opinion but I guess I don't have to. But I think I will still sumbit the Jered Weaver to Quick Opinion. Thank you for the report.
hi ya.. strumbled across this blog, but i heard if a ebay seller has a picture of the person that signed the item the signature is almost always good. thats still true, isnt it?
OMG.... ATL-SPORTS ... I THINK EVERYTHING THIS GUY HAS IS FAKE!
Just a quick response to the writer who suggested that because a auction shows a athlete signing a item that it is usually authentic. Actually it is just the opposite. The majority of photographs on Ebay that I've seen of a athlete signing a item are usually "stolen" photographs. An old "bad seller" named "usa4nate" was really good at that. Photographs of anything are so easy to find on the net and then can be inserted into an auction to make it look like it was your photograph. Don't fall for that one.
Just to make our readers aware that once again seller "Fansindastands" has a bunch of forged autograph items up on Ebay. They are all one-day auctions (as usual). He has up an incredible 6 more forged Derek Jeter items. Ebay refuses to do anything about him. Maybe he knows someone at Ebay???
I am new to ebay & came across this site. I am looking for some gifts for my hubby for christmas & am look at seller southflaraiders-has anyone dealt with this seller previously? Would welcome any feedback. Thanks for your time,Maggie
Just a couple quick notes. Seller "rcppd" has changed their Ebay ID to "jkmarketplace" and they are once again selling forged autograph items. Also, I was checking the autograph items from seller "gconnelly1969" whose autographs looked very suspicious. So I submitted a Quick Opinion on Item Number 190060501383. It came back as "Likely Not Genuine." As a matter of fact, the autographs are so bad that PSA sent the report back to me within 15 minutes of my submitting it. As we continually seach for sellers of forged autograph items on Ebay we see that the problem is much worse than I thought it was and I already know IT IS VERY BAD. And from what I can see Ebay isn't doing much of anything about it. This is what I am hoping. I am hoping that Ebay isn't taking any action because they are working with another agency and they will hit all the bad sellers at one time. I hope that is the case!!
I just happened to catch the comment asking about seller "southflaraiders." This I can tell you with certainty. The photograph in auction number 180060183765 with Peyton Manning has been in other auctions. If I were you I would submit one or two items to Quick Opinion.
One of these days the FBI will catch up with all of these guys, and when they I do, I will be the first to applaud. I am shocked that these sellers can sleep at night knowing they are committing fraud and stealing from the buyers of their forged autograph items. And one other thing that bares repeating; Just because a seller is a so-called Power Seller and has 5000 positive feedback doesn't mean they are selling authentic autographs. As a matter of fact, on Ebay, it most likely means just the opposite.
Has anyone bought from superiorpro8? They have alot of PSA items but alot look funny-nto sure what to make of it-item#190060705869-Steve
I want to add something else. Since it is the Christmas season, I have seen many folks capitalizing on my hometown team, the Cardinals because of the World Series. DO NOT BUT ANY TEAM SIGNED ITEMS UNLESS IT HAS BEEN AUTHINTICATED BY PSA, and ALL OF THE SIGS HAVE BEEN APPROVED. I have noticed a trend of sellers having a legit item signed by a lesser known player, like Scott Spezio and adding Pujols, Rolen, Edmonds, etc. after geting PSA approval on the Spezio sig. One seller was actually stupid enough to put the PSA number in his listing. When I looked it up, the cert was for a Spezio signed jersey. I called PSA and they said that the cert was NOT for the whole team...it was for ONE player.
ALSO, check out item number 260061086901 I want everyone to know that Pujols never used a Mizuno bat in a MLB baseball game he has denied using them numerous times. The only time he ever had his hand on one was in 2001 Spring Training and it was Mike Pizza's. It is very easy to go to a bat makers website, and have a bat made with Alberts (or anyone's) name on it - take it outside, rub some tar on it...hit some balls with it, and mark it with a #5. Also, in the case of this bat, it may have been a bat sent to Albert by Mizuno and used by another player. Albert used to trade with some guys a few years ago. A friend of mine runs Birdbats.com and has tons of info on Pujols gamers. I'm not making this stuff up...be careful.
Bigtruck makes a good point. Ever since the St Louis Cardinals won the World Series there have been a ton of forged team-signed St Louis Cardinals items. As a matter of fact, seller "rsmizel" has another forged St Louis Cardinals team-signed baseball up for auction (Item Number 320060725234) up for auction again. This I believe is his third forged St Louis Cardinals team-signed baseball. He has also had at least two forged NY Mets team-signed baseballs that have sold in the past. Once a week seller "rsmizel" puts up a bunch of forged autograph items and one is always a Albert Pujols and the other is a team-signed forged item.
Hi there - I came across this website while doing some research on fake ebay autographs after being disgusted with the quantity of bogus material. I hope to launch a website in the near future similar to this on my own areas of expertise. I congratulate the admin of this site on their efforts to combat the fraudsters and wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
It looks like old seller "baseballdome" has resurfaced under the Ebay ID of "darkbluewater1000." They are a "new" user and yet their auctions are all 1-day auctions and they are all "private." Also, the forged autographs are exactly the same as "baseballdome."
Baseballdome? Oh you MUST mean 100 cards from the same year and set all signed with the same pen at the same angle with the same placement...HMMM. Anyone who buys from that guy deserves what they get. Sorry, but they guy doesn't even TRY to decieve. he does the bare minimum and STILL gets business...unbelievable.
I bid on a Ryan Howard baseball for my son on eBay, but after reading this blog, I'm having second thoughts. What do you guys think of sportscard2k6 on eBay. He has a bunch of stuff and tons of positive feedback.
sorry. it's actually sportcards2k6. any thoughts.
To Ms. Anonymous who is bidding on a Ryan Howard baseball from seller "sportcards2k6" I would recommend two things. One is to ask the seller how they acquired all of their Ryan Howard autograph items. At this moment they have an astounding 35 Ryan Howard autograph items up for bid. And the second thing I would do is submit one of their Ryan Howard autographed baseballs to "Quick Opinion." There you will get your answer. Do I already know the answer? Yes I do, but I would like some of you collectors to start doing the type of research I do to get the crooked sellers. Submit a "Quick Opinion" and you will get your answer.
sportscards2k6 sells all fakes. their merchandise looks like the works of fansindastands.. i tink they even use the same pics n their coas. but their utley and howard signed ball is horrible.
I wonder how the TWO of you "regular" guys on this blog (and there might be just the two of you who actually CARE out there one way or another) can spend so much time chatting about eBay and all these fake items that you SEE listed...I think it's a little odd that you are so naive as to think that these alleged forgery-artists you slam are the really dangerous ones...they are NOT...the ones who are TRUE dangers are the ones who buy (and I do think most of these guys selling fakes are buying them online off eBay from sellers claiming to buy in bulk after shows...who knows? might be true I don't know but they look the same to me) the autographs...I don't think most of them know or really CARE if they are real or not...they are in the clear because they can say they didn't sign someone else's signature...they didn't claim to have had the item actually signed...in addition to the forgers themselves, the OTHER REAL CRIMINALS are the ones who scan or steal online images of REAL autographs then sell similar items...those brilliant criminals will never be caught or attacked or even NOTICED BY YOU 3-4 you "regular" guys who spend so much time chatting about eBay and all these fake items that you SEE listed there...they are the ones laughing all the way to the bank...and NOBODY knows it or can ask PSA or GDA or BFE or whomever to quick-check the signatures...if they did, the so-called "authenticators" would be AIDING THE CRIMINALS...and probably with YOUR support...carry on...if nothing else you guys make a nice couple...
...ADD YOURSELF TO THE LIST OF US PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOTHING TO DO BUT CHAT ABOUT THE LOSERS THAT SELL GARBAGE ON EBAY...
You seem to like it here, the only thing is, you are in the minority. I take a few minutes out of the day to make one or two posts about topic relevant to THIS BLOG.
It's great that you want to argue, but your comments are repetitive. We've heard what you have to say - several times now...you've decided that you don't like anyone who posts here. So it might be in your best interest to find another outlet for your rants.
Although I said that "bigmacks" autographs looked horrible evidently "Quick Opinion" wrote to me that they are good and I am happy to state that they are legitimate, and for once I am very happy to be able to write that.
That Koufax auto is horrific!!! If anyone is looking for authentic Koufax baseballs with the OA hologram (Online Authentics) - his agent's co. please email me at sales@sportsintegrity.com
Chris, his this is Joe from Sports Integrity.....do you personally pay for all these "Quick Opinions"? Just curious. Thanks for the work you do to try and make this a better industry! Is there a way to submit findings to you directly or should I just post on the board?
