Reggie Bush Signed Football?
One of our readers actually paid for the Quick Opinion and it came out "Likely Not Genuine".

Here is an authentic Reggie Bush signature that comes with Reggie's own hologram:

The seller of this fake Reggie Bush autographed football is seller "6642brianh." This fake Reggie Bush autographed football is from Ebay Item 170065099671. The seller is one of those new "copy cat" sellers of fake autograph items. I'd like for the readers of this blog to go to that item number and read the auction description. It actually reads in his auctions "I will provide a certificate of authenticity (COA) and you have my word the ball will pass any government or private companies autographed standards and regulations. If my guarantee does not instill enough confidence, then do check out the PSA/DNA quick opinion. This is where experts of authenticity will take a quick look at the item I have provided and offer you feedback saying, “likely genuine” or “not likely genuine”. However, the service does normally take 24-36 hours, and will cost you $7.49. (The link is provided below)." He is counting on the reader not to submit his items to Quick Opinion being that it may take 24-36 for the result and that submitting it will cost the reader $7.49. We already knew the seller was selling fake autograph items. His plan backfired. One of his other fake autograph items (Item Number 170064744562) is a fake Albert Pujols autographed baseball. I submitted that auction to "Quick Opinion" also and it came back as fake. As a matter of fact, his fakes are so bad, that the Quick Opinion results came back in 10 minutes. And I would like you to go to item number 170064744562 and read the auction description. He actually mentions Quick Opinion and The Pujols Family Foundation. This is a prime example of the new "copy cat" fake autograph seller.....Chris W.
Unfortunately you can longer see those auctions from Ebay seller "6642brianh" as Ebay has already removed the auctions. It looks as though PSA has an agreement with Ebay that when an autograph comes back as "Likely Not Genuine" they (PSA) notifies Ebay and Ebay then removes the auction. This is new to me and it looks like Ebay has a reason for doing this. The only thing I can figure is that Ebay doesn't want us to see the fake autograph items that they are allowing to be submitted....Chris W.
I personally like the idea of PSA removing the fake items as long as some poor TRUE in-person guy is not getting his stuff removed. But, in today's marketplace, collectors want COA's and holograms, etc. So some of the old timers know that in order to make money consitently, they have to have thier in-person stuff authenticated by PSA or JSA.
The seller of this Bush football actually sold a few Pujols balls within the past month. He claimed that he won them in an auction along with two David Ortiz baseballs. The selling price for the Ortiz baseballs was 52 bucks and 40 bucks...only because he won his own item accidentally while shill bidding on it...thus the feedback from someone that says "WOW it passed PSA!!!".
He also sold sevral Hank Aaron baseballs that he signed himself.
For those of you who have criticized Chris for submitting items to PSA, this is one case where it cam in very handy. Somone was about to pay 70+ dollars for a fake Reggie Bush football +100 bucks for a fake Pujols basball. Ebay never gave the bidders a chance. I hope that the seller was counting on that money to pay an important bill - because he is a thief. If it sounds harsh, so be it.
He will think twice before listing his trash again. Chalk up another one for the good guys!!!!
Bigtruck, you make a great point about the fact that Ebay didn't allow future bidders to be ripped off. But what is really curious is that I submitted a third Quick Opinion from the same seller for a obvious fake LaDanian Tomlinson autographed football that Ebay allowed to run to duration. And yes, that seller sold quite a few forged Albert Pujols and Hank Aaaron baseballs. He actually claimed in one of his Hank Aaron auctions that he brought 20 baseballs with him and that Mr. Aaron only signed 5 of them. Yeah right.....Chris W.
Just to let you know that the third item I submitted to Quick Opinion from this seller (6642brianh) also came back as fake. It was for a LaDanian Tomlinson autographed football. It is Item Number 170065102769 and the auction is over bit still visible. Please visit that Item Number (170065102769) on Ebay. All of that seller's autograph items were fake.....Chris
This all leads us to another thought. If Ebay receives the "Quick Opinion" results from PSA and in this case the results were all "Likely Not Genuine," then why is this seller not suspended from Ebay? He was caught (with documented evidence) selling forged autograph. I've done this with almost 100 othr fake autograph sellers and yet they are still allowed to sell on Ebay. Ebay has got to act fast on situations like this and not take their sweet time about getting rid of these sellers that sell forged autograph items intentionally. Not to mention, Ebay is making money from the sales of forged autograph items. Can we clean it up completely? No we can't. But we've already let the "bad sellers" know we are watching them and Ebay, who has much more in resources than I do, must do a lot more. They have access to PSA where they can get PSA's "Opinion" on suspicious autograph items. The truth is they dislike me so much that they would rather have me spend my money on the "Quick Opinion" reports. But that's fine with me because one day all of my documentation will come in very handle when all of this comes to a head nationally, and it will......Chris W.
From: Chappy,
Hi All..this is my first posting here. I really appreciate the education I've gotten here. I have been an autograph collector since the mid-80's. I mainly collect sports but also dabble in celebrities. Yesterday I did a "quick opinion" on a Linda Ronstadt signed album cover. Their reply came back within an hour as "likely not genuine." Then the auction disappeared. Ebay pulled it quite quickly. I was thinking though....what keeps the seller from relisting it? What about all their other auctions listed? Now granted, maybe they're all not fake but let's be realistic and you've got to assume they know if they're selling legit stuff or not.
I just read the book Operation Bullpen and if you haven't read that one you need to. These people produced millions and millions of fakes and most of them are still out there. I like using "quick opinion" and don't purchase without it.
Hi Chappy. Welcome.
You know, I read Operation Bullpen. It is a great book and Kevin Nelson is a terrific author. However, there is a problem with it: Some of the folk that read that book got the idea to start forging signatures from it.
I think that Chris would agree that they are tons of copycats out there who read the book and were inspired to commit fraud.
As far as celebrity sigs goes, I bet that there are more celebrity sigs out there that are fake than athletes for two reasons. First, celebrities (non-sports) do not sign as much, so it is difficult to find a non-hurried exemplar to verify against. Second, those who collect celbrity sigs and advertise in magazines like Autograph Collector sell thier sigs by the dozen for cheap prices...so if you see a Linda Rondstadt signed album cover for $30, it is believable as opposed to a $50 signed Jeter baseball.
There is nothing stopping a seller from re-listing a fake after it is pulled UNLESS eBay boots them...which suprisingly does not happen.
The one thing that Bigtruck and I have written about in this blog frequently is the hundreds of "copy cat" sellers of forged autograph items. In actuality the day of the "copy cat" fake autograph seller started approximately six months after "Operation Bullpen (the actual investigation)" was completed. Following "Operation Bullpen" Ebay was exonerated of almost all responsibility for the millions of dollars of fake autograph items sold on Ebay. In other words, Ebay got off easy. Almost immediately after that the small-time sellers of fake autograph items started on Ebay. This occurred because they knew they could get away with it. And they continue to get away with it except for some instances of Ebay taking action because I choose to harass Ebay about those sellers of forged autograph items. You have to understand how it works on Ebay. Unless someone complains to Ebay about seller of forged autograph items Ebay does nothing. And the "bad sellers" know this. Even those that have been caught selling fake autograph items come back under a new Ebay ID, sell the same fakes, and the Ebay system does not flag them. Last year I informed Ebay of a ring of 7 sellers that were working together selling the same fake autograph items. It took a long time for Ebay to finally do something about them. But guess what? Two of those sellers are back on Ebay selling their fakes again. Is that incredible or what! Let's once again take last night's situation in reference to seller "6642brianh" who was caught selling forged autograph items. Ebay only removed the forged items after "Quick Opinion" came back as "Likely Not Genuine." So why is that seller not suspended? He forged the autographs of Albert Pujols, Reggie Bush and Ladanian Tomlinson. He committed fraud. But yet ironically you or I can be suspended for telling a seller of forged autograph that we know he is selling fakes. They call it "misuse of the Ebay mail system." So what is it called when a company makes money in the form of fees and commissions from the sales of forged autograph items? Awhile back I mentioned that the problem is worse when it comes to entertainment autographs. It is much worse. I discovered that last year when a seller of forged autographed items of sports memorabilia was also selling forged entertainment items. Since then that seller is no longer allowed to sell autographs of any kind, but the point is I discovered that the forging of entertainment autographs are worse than forging of athletes. As a matter of fact, there was a seller on Ebay who had up on a daily basis hundreds of forged autographed guitars of every rock band imaginable. He was selling them for between $299.99 and $999.99 a pop. I can't tell you the number of times I complained to Ebay about them. It wasn't until recently that the seller is "Unregistered." That seller sold over 1500 forged autographed guitars on Ebay. That seller probably grossed over $750,000 worth of forged autographed guitars. I mention all of this just to illustrate the depth of the problems on Ebay when it comes to autograph items of every kind. But what is really more puzzling and worrisome is that Ebay is aware of the problem. They have the resources to rectify it. It's all about the money. With the tens of millions of dollars Ebay has made from the sale of forged autograph items, they should begin today to utilize every resource available and do the right thing. They know what has to be done, and they should start doing it today, because eventually it will come back to haunt them in the pocketbook.....Chris W.
thats a great thing if psa quick opinion is linking with ebay on fraud but that also somewhat bothers me.im a gold level powerseller on ebay selling signed memorabilia each of which each item i sell i witness at paid and private signings,i take photos for buyers enjoyment and also issue my own coas.whos to say if another ebayer quick opinioned my authentic memorabilia and psa says likely not genuine just to have my auctions ended so i would need to have a third party like psa cert my items to sell them on ebay.does that make sense??it could be a great thing but that opinion could be used to benfit psa in the bank account
also i left out i dont trust psa at all.it could be worse if global was running that i guess
jsa would be my first choice for a expert exaim
From: Chappy,
Right now I have 2 other requests in for "quick opinions" from PSA. The question seems to be is PSA benefiting from their relationship with Ebay. I think not. I believe this is Ebays way of staying neutral. It should always be "buyer beware." However... right now....it is up to folks like us to keep the heat on Ebay to police themselves. There is too much crap out there. Today my grandson who is 10 years old and really into martial arts asked me to help him buy him an autographed Jet Li photo. When I started looking at the stuff on ebay once again I was aghast. All crap, fake stuff. I did submit one to "quick opinion" and am awaiting a determiniation but I got to say I am skeptical. I am e-mailimg Ebay to tell them of my concerns. The more of us that do that maybe will make a difference. Bigtruck said that due to Operation Bullpen there are more forgers out there than ever before and I got to believe that but we need to keep up the vigilance against all these deceitful dealers out there. What else can I do??
Look, I feel sorry for all of the guys who sent away to celebrities and recieved autographs or waited outside the stadium to have a player scribble an illegible signature on a Franklin non-official baseball only to have PSA reject it. It happened to me...I bought an Albert Pujols autographed card from one of the Cardinal wives during a breast cancer fundraiser at Busch Stadium. The card was non-MLB endorsed and was certainly not mint, as it stayed in my pockey for 9 innings. I sent it in to PSA a year later and it came back with 5 reasons it was not real - although they kept my $30 and the cost of shipping ($50 total). I was so irritated that I wrote to Bill Dewitt, Cards president...he assured me that the card was real and even sent me a replacement (great PR move). I ended up being mad at PSA because I felt that the original card was legit and I was accusatory toward the organization...I acted like a jerk.
HOWEVER...PSA is one of the two most reputable mainstream authenticators out there (JSA the other). If I was a seller of one of those mail away items or in-person items, you had better believe that I would send them away to be certified. As you know, you can get hundreds (even thousands) of dollars more out of a PSA authenticated item vs. a "take my word for it" item.
I go through the same searches every day (Pujols signed, Cardinals signed) and I can honestly say that unless the item has Mounted Memories (MM), Steiner, Tri-Star, ESP (Exclusive Sports Promotions), ESM (Elite Sports Marketing), PSA or JSA the item is probably a fake. I say probably becaue OCCASIONALLY I will come across an item that is genuine...and the seller has a plethora of other legit items for sale to help his cause. Generally, those itmes never meet their reserves or sell for far less than market becasue people do not trust eBay anymore. I have bought items from people like that after using Quick Opinion and re-sold them for 2-3 times what I originally paid after having them certified.
Chris mentioned seller 6642brianh. When I contacted him and told him that I was forwarding his fake Pujols baseball to the Cardinals and the Pujols Family Foundation, he simply repsonded "Thanks".
After he was busted, I replied with "you are very welcome..anytime" The funny thign abou that guy is that if you look at his profile, you can almost see where he stopped being a seller of legit merchandise and started his fraudulent practices...his is the prime example of the copycat we have been discussing.
FYI, he sold several Hank Aaron baseballs and four Pujols balls for a grand total of $400. It might not sound like much, but it is a pretty fair profit margin for the cost of 6 baseballs....
Look at this seller on overstock.com fake autographs of EVERYBODY! He has tons of various Mantle autographs and todays stars, there all straight garbage.
http://auctions.overstock.com/cgi-bin/auctions.cgi?PAGE=SEARCH&BYSELL=mikel503&TYPE=4&PGNUM=2
Look at this website I found. Look at all the fakes!!!!! This guy seems to just sign away everyday, check out his crappy inventory.
http://signaturedreams.com/
Here's a prime example of Ebay's greed and not caring for the integrity of the collector and autogrpah industry. Once again seller "Fansindastands" just put up another 84 fake autograph auctions. Ebay is well aware he sells fake autograph items. He's been selling the same fake Michael Jordan autographed basketball over and over again; he's been selling the same fake Chien-Ming Wang autographed baseball over and over again; he's been selling the same fake David Wright autographed baseball over and over again, etc, etc. They allow "Fansindastands" to sell his 80-100 fake autographs every week because he makes them
money every time he lists and sells his forged autograph items. If I inform a seller that I I am aware that he is selling fake autograph items, Ebay can send me a waring for "missuse of the Ebay Mail System," but it's okay to actually sell fake autograph items? What is wrong with this picture?......Chris W.
I went to Overstock.com and was looking over their auctions. It is very obvious that they do not police their autograph auctions. I was checking the autographs from the seller previously mentioned and they used to sell fakes on Ebay, too. It's incredible the number of fake Mickey Mantle auctions that seller has up. It's interesting also that he does not recognize PSA/DNA, etc. By the way that seller on Ebay goes by the Ebay ID of "Signaturedream." I submitted his Willie Mays signed baseball (Ebay Item Number 190067785475) and it came back as "Likely Not Genuine." He used to go by the Ebay ID of "mikel503" until he changed it. He sells a bunch of garbage on Overstock also. Cut and paste this link:

Chris W.
Yea his website is also a joke. I seriously hope people dont look at his site and purchase his junk. They are pretty hanious
Uh, yeah. Signature Dreams is a mess. I just checked it out. WOW. I am speechless. What kind of turd puts his address and full name next to thousand of dollars in fraud??? Has anyone ever heard of special agent Mike Morales???I didn't think so! I think someone should contact his local authorities and report him.
My favorite was the baseball signed by 13 stars. The Bonds signature was the worst I have ever seen. He also had a Mantle that was equally as bad - with Dimaggio, etc.
He also has a snow white Babe Ruth baseball.Right, anyone who buys from this guy on eBay or from his site is asking for what they get. Can you imagine some corporate jackass trying to conduct a meeting with one of those balls displayed on the desk in front of him? I would bite through my lip to keep from laughing! Great find guys...and by the way a little birdie told me that PSA rejected somme of his stuff....
Oh you have to read this, taken straight from his description for the fake babe ruth ball... "Item has been authenticated by Mr. Chris Morales... Mr. Morales is a former Secret Service Agent with 20 years of real world experience in this field, with a double Masters from George Washington University including one in Forensic Science......There is no one in the industry with these high of credentials and experience .... He was featured in Sports Collectors Digest...."Authenticating the Authenticator's"....He is a "Court and Board Certified Forensic Authenticator"... and is recognized as such by any Court in the nation.... Mr. Morales can and will testify as an expert in any court of law as to the authenticity of this item if the item is ever claimed to be questionable by any of the other so called "Non Certified Opinionators"...(PSA/DNA..GAI...JSA...etc). Item will be accompanied by a registered and notarized legal document from Mr. Morales"
This is great, Non Certified Opinionators"...(PSA/DNA..GAI...JSA...etc).
This guy needs jail time. Anyone call this piece of crap up? His number and name is listed on the site.
oh im going to tomorrow. i originally posted about him, he will get a call from me. his site is a joke, man i never seen anything like it lol
I had to post this. I saw it in an earlier blog so I knew no one would see it. Im the one who posted about overstock anf signaturedreams.com origianlly..
I am from the Tampa are where Authentic Sports Investments started out, well got big from. They had contracts with Sosa to sell all his game used, and then aquired Arod. What the problem was is innner company. That caused the other partner to branch out snd form Elite. All there items are genuine, as they sell the game used of players for only a percentage of a sale, the player gets the rest. The other former member of ASI went on to form Locker Room Memorabilia which has the exclusive contract of David Wright and other of todays future and up and coming stars. Elite is nowhere near fraud material, I dont know anyone is staing this. ASI, ELITE, AND LRM, there all good companys, its just the AROD deal turned sour in my book. Thats it
MARK
The one thing that has been born over and over again in this blog are the number of collectors getting actively involved in the elimanation of sellers of forged autograph items. Thank you, Chappy, for getting on board with us. Chappy has made some valuable contributions to our goal. Every little bit of investigation helps. Of course I check on the Jeter items on Ebay, while Bigtruck looks at the Pujols stuff on Ebay and other contributors are looking at the forged items of other athletes on Ebay. Many times what has happened is that the bad sellers get wind that every Jeter and Pujols autograph items is being checked by us so they (the bad sellers) stop selling the forged items of those two athletes. But now we have other collectors who now check the forged items of other athletes. Although our main focus is on Ebay obviously, percentage wise Yahoo and OverStock auctions are much worse. From what I've seen on OverStock 98% of the Jeter autograph items are forged. It is not policed at all. You can "report" items on OverStock but from what I can see they do not have the proper resources to check on anything. Of course, when it comes to overall numbers, it is a major problem on Ebay and we all know that. "Copy cat bad sellers" are cropping up every day. And even when they are caught, they've learned that they can go back on Ebay with another Ebay ID and start all over again because Ebay doesn't flag them (and they could if they wanted to!!!). What really amuses me is that when I contact a "bad seller" about the forged autograph items they are selling they always reply with the same thing: "How do you know they are fake?" Or, "Get a life." In other words, they expect us to just leave them alone as they continue to sell their fake autograph items. Just another quick note that Ebay allowed seller "Fansindastands" to sell another 84 fake autograph items this past weekend. He sold his third fake New Orleans Saints team signed helmet and this time it went for $381.00. Ebay continues to allow him to sell his fakes. He makes them a lot of money every 7-10 days on fake autograph items. They should be ashamed of themselves.....Chris W.
Another seller of forged autographed cards and baseballs is seller "fenway620." Check out his forged Albert Pujols baseball (Ebay Item Number 290068351520).....Chris W.
We have so-called "new" seller on Ebay selling fake autograph items. Their Ebay ID is "baseball4life2006." Check out Ebay Item Number "280066587567." It is an obviously forged Derek Jeter/Alex Rodriguez autographed baseball. Also Item Number 280067776228. Check out the two forged Derek Jeter autographed baseballs from seller "lemsports." Check out Ebay Item Numbers 8828348396 and 200066012212. Check out the fake Derek Jeter autographed baseball from seller " cheryl34446." It is Item Number 260073102113. Check out this mess: Ebay Item Number 290069427238. Chris W.
I have news for you
260073102113 is an authentic jeter autograph. you guys are looking so hard to bust people take your time and look at the item(s)
psa/dna quick opinion it and I will bet anyone of you it is authentic
these jeters are crap 280067776228

I'd like to respond to the previous comment about Ebay item Number 260073102113. First of all, right after I reported that item as fake (and it was a fake) the seller "Revised" the item and inserted a different photograph (looks like a Derek Jeter Steiner Sports autographed baseball). So let's see if the winner receives the baseball in the present photograph or the baseball from the first photograph. If you go to that auction and read it, you will see the word "Revision" and there you will read the "Revision" and you will read that the "Revision" where the old photo was deleted and the new photo inserted. I was ready for this one because I knew ahead of time what the seller was going to do. These sellers will do anything in an attempt to undermine us.....Chris W.
I'd like to add a comment to my previous comment. First of all, go to Ebay Item Number 260073102113. Scroll down to the word "Description" and click on the word "revised" which is right next to the word "Description." There you will see where the old photograph of the fake Derek Jeter was "deleted" and a new photo was "inserted." I was already prepared for the seller to do that. Again, these sellers are trying to undermine what we do here. As for Mr. Anonymous's comment that "that you are looking so hard to bust people......" Well, Mr. Anonymous, I do not jump the gun. I do my homework and ask questions first. Again, you will do anything to undermine what we do here. Just another poor attempt to sucker us into a wrong accusation.......Chris W.
I asked that seller if I will recieve the ball in the photo, and if I will get a Steiner cert with it...we'll see...
You guys have to check out Ebay Item Number 180072476864. A horrible fake autographed hat of Mickey Mantle and with the inscription "No 7." The seller with Ebay ID "dcosley" claimed he bought four of these over the summer from the same person. What a horrible forgey.....Chris W.
If you go back to the auction now (Ebay Item Number 260073102113) you will read that "The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing." Also, if you look closely, when the seller ends a listing early, it goes back to its original state, and there it shows the original photo that was inserted into the auction. Of course, the seller (cheryl34446) still has up a fake LADAINIAN TOMLINSON autographed football.......Chris W.
CHRIS WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PHOTO THAT WAS LISTED WITH 260073102113? WHEN I LOOKED AT THE JETER IT WAS A DIFFERENT PHOTO. HOW DOES A PHOTO VANISH ONCE IT IS POSTED ON EBAY?
CHRIS I AM BEHIND WHAT YOU ARE DOING BUT IT DOESNT LOOK GOOD FOR YOU CREDENTIALS THAT ALL-AUTHENTIC WONT LET YOU POST ON THIS BLOG ANYMORE UNDER YOUR NAME. WHAT HAPPENDED? YOU DIDNT GET INTO AN ARGUEMENT WITH THEM?
HOW COME YOU CANT USE ANOTHER USER NAME? I AM NOT SIGNING ON UNLESS THEY GET YOUR USER NAME STRAIGHT.
Hello, in response to the last post regarding Chris, we have had problems with logins ever since the Blogger Software converted from Beta to the new version. We have NOT banned Chris from this site nor have we ever banned anyone from this site. Chris is one of the most prolific writers on the blog and although he is not associated with ALLAuthentic, we definitely appreciate is zeal for this industry.
...And he has the support of the St. Louis contingent. The post he made about the Jeter switcharoo in this thread was one of the most informative things posted in the past few months.
An eBay newbie would benefit from something like that...especially since someone who is seasoned missed it and had to be corrected. Some of you think Chris spends too much time with this stuff...it is all for your benefit, and if you don't want free advice that will save you embarrassment and money, you should create your own blog, and I would be happy to sign up and post my grievances with your opinions.
By the way, that Mantle fiasco is terrible, and the guy also has a Pujols fake up too...his repsonses are like reading a manual for tolet use by a kindergartener. His forgeries are bad, but his excuses are what irritate me more, that and the fact that he says he sent two of them to PSA and they passed. I guess in 1994 while Mick was crippled with cancer, he decided to have a private signing with the reputable NY-Yankee-Auctions. Of course, he purposely changed his trademark half moon "M"'s to distinguish the NYY auctions signatures from the UDA version to help with brand identity. Good Grief.
That Mickey Mantle hat is horrible, just horrible. There is a new "copy cat" just starting up his name is "ismith42" looks like he is testing the waters of Ebay with his first fake Jeter baseball. Auction # 180072476864. I reported it to ebay.

please that guy a few comments above talking about ELITE....ELITE sells some very questionable memorabilia from sig's to gameused.some of there so called gamers are complete garbage.how hard is it to take a jersey out back and slideinto firstbase to get dirty.lol...what amazes me is there HUGE inventory of yankees gamers not purchased from steiner but claimed to be given them by players directly but this other guy on here claims they only broker the sale for the players.thats b.s. because you can buy a jeter game used cleats for 200 bucks from them, why would jeter sell them that cheap
elite is a bunch of crooks
ALL-AUTHENTIC
what do you know about elite??have you ever done business with them in the past or had a another company recomend them???
Hey, BC, I reported seller "ismith42" to Ebay also. Thanks for the heads up. All of us who are working hard to rid the industry of these "bad sellers" spend a lot of our time performing these tasks without asking anything in return. None of us promote ourselves nor do we even mention our Ebay ID's on this blog. We are simply sick and tired of the crooks saturating the mainstream with forgeries that outnumber the legitimate autograph items. We are sick and tired of them breaking the law. But what we are really sick and tired of are "the powers that be" that do very little (and they have the resources) to rid the industry of these crooks. And these people are crooks. They sell forged autograph items in exchange for someone's hard-earned money. Many of these "bad sellers" on Ebay have sold in excess of 8,000 forged autograph items. That's 8,000 sales of forged autograph items that Ebay made money on, and that's only from one seller. I don't do this because I want to do it, but I do it because it has to be done, and fortunately I have been lucky enough to have people like Bigtruck, BC, Devin, TLC and others join me. There have been approximately two dozen "bad sellers" removed from Ebay during the past month and many more have had their fake autograph items removed. I will continue to harass Ebay about the "bad sellers" on a daily basis. We all have to inform Ebay about these "bad sellers." If a seller all-of-a-sudden pops up and has 50 autographed photos of star athletes and the COA's aren't from the Steiner, UDA, MM, Tri-Star, etc., then we have to look into it. Many "bad sellers" start with the fake autographs on 8X10 photos because they are easier to attempt to forge on a flat surface and they are inexpensive to produce. It's much more difficult to forge an autograph on a baseball, bat, football, helmet, etc. And forged autographs on the aforementioned items are more expensive to purchase than photos and they are easier to spot as forgeries. Some "bad sellers" try to make a quick buck by selling an obvious fake in the $250.00 range to give the perception that if they want that much for it then it must be authentic. They try to use all the available methods of deception. And they all act so innocent when you ask them "how they acquired their autograph items." And many of the "bad sellers" know each other. I discovered that last year many, many times. But our biggest problem is WHY DOESN"T EBAY DO MORE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM? Money from fees and commissions? And when they eventually do act due to pressure that "bad seller" has probably already sold hundreds of fake autograph items. Here's one example of the problem with Ebay; seller "fansindastands." He has sold in excess of 1200 fake autograph items over the last four months. I have contacted Ebay well over three dozen times about this seller and still Ebay doesn't take any action against him. Every 7-10 days that seller puts up anywhere between 70-120 fake autograph items. They are all one-day auctions and they are all "Private" auctions. He changed his auctions to "Private" immediately after he found out we discovered him as a seller of fake autograph items. So that means that Ebay has made profits from seller "fansindastands" on the sale of over 1200 fake autograph items. Again, this is only one example. And the truth is if collectors like Bigtruck, Devin, BC, TLC, myself and others didn't file reports to Ebay about this stuff Ebay wouldn't do anything at all. That means those "bad sellers" who have been removed from Ebay would still be selling. Ebay must do more, much more......Chris W.
speaking of fansindadstands.. check out his feedback.. he's been called out about an item being deemed fake by a 3rd party authenticator. he also got another negative feedback about the picture on his coa.
being somebofy who has been ripepd off by that jerkoff, i'm excited to see his reputation starting to be tarnished in his feedback.
I also wanted to thank J-Man who has helped us in our investigations.....Chris W.
I have mentioned in previous threads that Elite's game used items seem questionable, however, their autographs look good and have passed every quick opinion I have done on them.
Many people have said that they are shady, but I mentioned them based on autographs not game used stuff. That's a whole 'nother can of worms...
what does everyone think of this? 280067248417. is the listed authenticator legit?

Guiterrez is legit - He might still work for PSA/DNA...at least his names were on their LOA's for a while. If you trust PSA, then you can trust Mike Guiterrez. I trust myself and the piece shown looks good based on the sigs I am familiar with.
The only problem I have is that he does not have the finished product in hand...that is a little odd for such a high priced item.
only thing about that 50 greats baseball display is its likely they seller didnt witness the signing's or at least most of them.claiming to have made this type of item before hes likely going around buying index cards with his best judgement.like psa or global its still just a opinion.everybody knows index cards are the easiest to forger item on the market.how much does a piece of paper cost??a forger could simply practice signing 50 times then pick his best sample likely to pass psa test.i would be willing to bet that not all of the index cards on this display are authentic, not saying seller is doing anything wrong
everybody check out seller fenway620.. they remind me very much of our old buddy baseballdome. check out the "signed" jeter card he has. looks very much like baseballdome's poor attempt at signing. his other signed cards also remind me of baseballdomes forgeries. they also have a pujols signed ball BUY IT NOW for like $54.. who would sell a legit pujols autographed anything, let alone a ball for $54?? baseballdome or not, this guy is def. selling fakes
My searches for signed Pujols memorabilia have been far easier in recent weeks due to a DRASTIC drop in the amount of foregeries for sale. i counted 5 possible fakes yesterday compared to almost 50 a month ago. Something else that concerns me though, is the amount of REPRINTS that are popping up indroves. The reprints are likely scanned copies of official MLB hologrammed photos and the signatures are forgeries. As a matter of fact, I am positive that several of the copies are scanned from known forgers based on the similarities in the flow, etc. Just another way for BAD sellers to pawn thier garbage off on those who have no clue...reprints are a copyright violation and should be treated as such.
on the pujols family foundation website, i don't know if anybody here has seen it yet, but there is an article written by mr. todd perry about the amount of fake pujols items on ebay. he also has a guide for buying authentic game used jerseys and bats
Yeah, J-Man. Chris and I have been assisting them. They were amazed at the amount of forgeries out there, actually, I sent them 60 items in one day.
I know that Chris has helped spread the message to other sites, etc...notably one in KC.
I live here, so it is nice to know that they responded the way that they did. The problem is that several ebay sellers used the photo of the ball in the "store" section as a template for thier forgeries...as a matter of fact, the seller of the Bush item listed above is the main culprit. He put a link to the Pujols site on his auction page so that the buyers could "compare" it ended getting him in trouble, because all of his stuff was removed.
I've been complaining about seller "fenway620" since the summer when they resurfaced. They used to be an old "bad seller." I've recently complained to Ebay many times about their fake autograph auctions. They aren't "baseballdome" but they do sell obvious fakes....Chris W.
Last night (Jan. 10th) I submitted a "Quick Opinion" on Ebay Item Number 320069832048. It was a fake autographed helmet of Peyton Manning. It was a forgery of course being sold by seller "Savant01." I've been complaining about seller "Savant01" for about 16 months now and have submitted numerous "Quick Opinion" results to Ebay but they continue selling forged autograph items. After PSA released the results of the "Quick Opinion" report to Ebay, Ebay removed the item, but my question is "Why didn't Ebay remove seller Savant01’s other forged autograph items?" That's a major indictment of Ebay's lack of action to the problems of forged autograph items on their auction site! Evidence has been presented to them (many times I might add) that seller "Savant01" is selling fake autograph items and yet the remainder of their items are still up for auction on the auction site. "Savant01" has sold well over 800 forged autograph items. Here's another example: Seller "Prestigesigs." They were caught last year selling forged autograph items and weren't allowed to sell autograph items on Ebay, so they went to Yahoo Auctions to sell their forged autograph items. But yet just recently Ebay has allowed them back on to sell their fake autograph items again. First of all, why didn't Ebay flag this seller immediately? Secondly, even if the Ebay System didn't flag this "bad seller" why didn't they respond to my emails that this seller had resurfaced? Let's for one minute give Ebay the "benefit of the doubt" about flagging this resurfaced "bad seller." But after being alerted that this seller has resurfaced why doesn't Ebay take any action against seller "Prestigesigs?" This is a major problem? They are making huge profits from auctions in which the sellers are selling forged autograph items! How about sellers "dqbean252" and "signaturedream." And don't be misled by the title of "Power Seller" on Ebay. Seller "Prestigesigs" is a so-called "Power Seller" and yet he sells fake autograph items. Seller "Onlinesportsnmore (finally gone from Ebay)" was a so-called "Power Seller" and sold all forged autograph items. If it weren't for us "bothering" Ebay with our reports all of those "bad sellers" that are now removed would still be selling on Ebay. So let's continue to "bother" Ebay with our reports until they decide to take action against them. Ebay is only looking out for the interests of Ebay and they are not concerned with maintaining the integrity of the hobby of autograph collectors. The problem, of course, is that Ebay cannot remove all of these "bad sellers" at one time because gross income would drop severely in a short period of time. But what they fail to realize is that more sellers of authentic autograph item would be selling their items on Ebay. Ebay, you have the resources to fix the problem, so ddo the right thing, because if you don't, you won't get off as easy as you did following "Operation Bullpen.".......Chris W.
Hi guys I've been reading most of your comments, and I would like to say simply put FANTASTIC,I wish I would of found you guys month's earlier as I just got involved with e-bay as most of my collection comes from steiner and frozen pond here in Toronto Canada.I have some upperdeck so I have been searching e-bay for only upperdeck mickey mantle. As I just bid and won I researched further and found this great Blog. What I'm asking is for some help in determining If i've been taken,I'll give some details without mentioning the seller just in case all checks out with your responses.First I checked with upperdeck in Nevada and verified the Mantle ball to the numbered hologram, secondly I asked one of the agents at UD if the hologram can be switched to a forged ball,he said anything is possible however the dealer would have to know the number is assigned to a mantle ball. This did trigger doubt so of coarse I'm looking at everything negatively, such as the seller had all bidders private and his past purchases and sales in the feed back private, however his feedbacks were positive.Like I mentioned before I don't want to make the seller look fraudulent if it's not warranted so I'm hoping the info provided helps in either assuring me or informing me that I possibly got taken in which time I would elaborate further.I hoping someone can help?PLEASE ask questions and I will provide answers if it means getting reassurance because I would feel real bad because I'm new to e-bay and I've been doing quite a bit of research and again this site has been invaluable thus far regardless of the outcome. I'm going to forward and mention this to Frozen Pond here in TO.where I purchased all of my Hockey memorabilia.

Regarding annomous at9:22 as you have read above and as I keep reading these invaluable exerps,I'm new to this game and it's people like chris that educate and slowly walk to the plate (pardon the pun)that may bring some enjoyment and trust back into this field (pardon the pun again)keep it up all of you,you guys are like the angels on bidders shoulders.
Honestly, I don't have enough info on Elite to comment, maybe some of the other guys know more. You can do a search for their name on the search bar on the blog and see what comes up...sorry about that!
i know a little about elite sports.there was a customer of mine that purchased a gameused brett favre packers jersey through historic auctions.if youve never heard of them they auction off some of the finest vintage items, gamers and everything top notch.if you read scd youve seen there auction.anywats he paid a cheap 1500 bucks for a nice farve jersey which in my mind is a little too cheap for a first ballot hall of famers gamer.needless to say after inspecting his jersey i explained to him about sending it off to a thrid party for a full exaim.psa/dna turned it down.they verified with the packers equitment manger they neck size isnt brett's and also gave him numbers that should be wrote on the wash tags werent there either.so a second opinion gai/dna was made and they knew nothing of the psa exaim.same thing not real
thats all i know is elite sold a fake gamer for 1500 bucks, thats not chump change either.
intereting the seller of the fake jeter ball that chris found and another reader called real(he was wrong) is now selling a fake ladainian tomlinson football 260074729573 pay close attention to lt's "L" notice at the top point of the where it starts to come down theres a clear"stop point'in the flow.remember athletes flow through there signatures like a knife through butter it doesnt stop
if the chargers win the superbowl LT'S name will be forged3xtimes the amount of jeter, albert p etc
Nice to see some new contributions in this blog...the word is out apparently.
As far as the Mantle ball, here is an idea for you. List the ball on eBay for 1 cent and put a reserve of several thousand dollars on it. Then send the auction to PSA/DNA quick option for their opinion...you can send it to UD too...they should be able to tell if you have something that is fake.
Again, Elite has a legit autograph business for several players...notable Pujols. They also sell Steiner items, etc. The game used stuff is questionable...and many here have wondered how the acquired all of thier Jeter and Sheffield and A-Rod gamers. If something like that Farve jersey came back from Mears or PSA as not genuine, I would hand deliver it to their offices in Clearwater, FL. Elite will forever have a rep for being shady after they created the A-Rod Authenticated company and shadily created some non A-Rod authorized items. A-Rod dropped and made national headlines....just be careful. I have a hard time buying without seeing.
Many sellers will post a photo of a Steiner ball and when it gets there it is something totally different...I have a habit of checking thousands of feedback comments.
Feedback isn't always the best way either though. SportsIntegrity has a low feedback score (in the 97 range) and I have always had good experiences with them.
Try a google search with the sellers username and fakes or autographs....you may find something there.
JOE COPPOLA who operates sports intergerty is one of the largest sellers of memorabilia on ebay selling under different accounts,i think i read about him in a magazine doing over 1 million in sales on ebay.im willing to bet 110%of that was authentic hand signed memorabilia
feedback is somewhat helpful but lots of times helps the forgers keep rolling.most feedback is given for shipping in a timely manner.
remember the person leaving feedback isnt a expert
...Sounds like someone from Sports Integrity agrees with my assessment of them. I would never bet that anyone that sells exclusively on eBay is 110% authentic. Just like I would never bet that PSA/JSA, etc. are 100% correct every time. Even the best intentioned sellers have been duped a few times.
Also, quality of auto is important in my book. If you sell a signature, it better look like the one in the auction!
Hey all... "6642brianh" here. Come check out my new items, they're Nice! I like!
So seller "6642brianh" invites us to look at his present auctions of autographed boxing greats. He claims it is "his lose and our gain" that he must sell his collection. Of course, he purchased those same signed boxing items just recently on Ebay. So much for his "lifelong" collection. He is also the same seller who tried to sell a few fake Albert Pujols autographed baseballs. Ebay removed all of his previous items.....Chris W.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME? IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT CHRISTOPHER MORALES PLEASE E-MAIL ME AT BASEBALLMOMX5@AOL.COM I HAVE PURCHASED A VERY LARGE COLLECTION OF AUTOGRAPHED BASEBALL ITEMS WITH HIS FORENSIC EXAMINE LETTERS. IS THIS MAN LIGIT?
