Dwayne Wade Signed Basketball?

Dwayne Wade is a very hard autograph get. One of the only places that we know you can get an autograph from is Upper Deck -- so if you are bidding on a Dwayne Wade autographed basketball that doesn't come with pretty convincing authentication, I would be leery.
Here is the Dwayne Wade autographed basketball in question:

And here is an Upper Deck Dwayne Wade signed basketball:

You make the call!

Horrible forgery, without looking at the signature, you can tell the number 3 is a completely different striation in handwritting. It is pathetic.

On another note, I have noticed with people in the UK, they like to forge soccer and tennis items and people aren't aware that these sports have forgeries too. This seller with the link below has tons of forgeries. It is sad that forgeries not only exist with the well known sports and athletes, but practically everywhere.

I forgot to add that they make it look like they are a genuine company with their so called authenticity claim and their autographs are pretty good forgeries and someone could easily buy one. However, I find it odd that the same light blue pen was used on all the auctions that I clicked on which was about 20 of them. They have a website called http://www.seriouslycoolmemorabilia.com/ and I can't load it, maybe it is just my internet connection.

the questionable one looks like they tried too hard to copy wade's signature. you can tell they spent too much time on it because it doesn't have the flow of someone who signs the same signature over and over

Sometimes people forget that baseball collectors are not the only ones getting hosed...

Wade is a very popular item - in the same category as Reggie Bush or Sidney Crosby.

People are always trying to capitalize on the next big thing.

The seller of that forged Dwayne Wade autographed basketball is Ebay Seller "Prestigesigs." This particular item was already removed by Ebay, but my question is "why didn't Ebay remove the other 24 fake Dwayne Wade autograph items," including two identical basketballs like the forged one above. One of Ebay friends sent me the "Quick Opinion" report and the result is "Likely Not Genuine." It is "Likely Not Genuine," it is a bad forgery......Chris W.

if you're going to try to sell something for a large sum of money, the least you can do is add a picture to your listing, it's free for the 1st picture! at the time, this obvious newbie has no picture of the card. 200080734230
would you pay $10,000 for a card that the seller doesn't even tell you what card it is? i hope they had to pay a rediculous listing fee just for being so ignorant.

Following up on BigTruck's observation about a terrible-looking Babe Ruth card from the previous thread (170081798423), evidently it has been re-listed at 170083072484. Now a private auction, and check out the explanation that should sound very loud alarm bells:

"This card is being relisted due to non-paying winning bidder. We are selling this card for a friend and from the information we have learned, it is not made by Topps or Upper Deck. We do not know much about baseball cards, however from much research it appears to be a professionaly made card. This card was purchased from a card show in Dallas."

Keep up the good work.

IN RESPONSE TO JACK WILSONS POST CLAIMING GAI STICKERS BREAK UP INTO L;ITTLE PIECES IF REMOVED IS TOTALY FALSE
GAI,PSA AND JSA USE STICKERS NOT HOLOGRAMS,STICKERS ARE EXCATLY WHAT THEY ARE JUST STICKERS THAT CAN BE PEELED BACK ON ANY ITEM

HOLOGRAMS ARE TAMPER PROOF WHERE IF PEELED BACK WILL BREAK OF INTO SOME MANY PEICES IMPOSSABLE TO REPAIR .PAY ATTENTION TO JETER SUCKS BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN IN THIS HOBBY FOR 15 YEARS AND SEEN ABOUT EVERY TRICK IN THE BOOK

Yeah - I have been watching the auction for that Babe Ruth "auto" card. It is clear that the card was made by someone after market with the intention of selling it to someone as real. The signature is terrible, any fifth grader could tell the difference.

I have seen this trick used before on more modern players and a few HOF stars. They take scans of a few different cards and photoshop them into a new "product" making two seperate pieces. They then cut out a window in the top piece and lay the "cut" between the two pieces and glue them together. Then they add the hand numbering.

MOST of these people clearly list that the card is an after market piece that was created by the seller. They count on the ignorance of customers who fail to read all parts of the description. This is the same type of scam as the guys who sell autgraphed reprints. Reprint is listed in the category, but not in the listing.

I am also noticing an increase in the amount of people who are using Steiner,MM, Schwartz and Tri-Star stock photos to sell their fakes. PSA can't make a determination because they know that the sigs in the photos are legit -

That Ruth card is obvious garbage.

Why would someone even bid on a card that admittedly is not produced by a well known card mgf.?
and yet it has 5 bids and is up to $325.00. Looks like the crooks have found a new creative way to recycle the greg marino fake cuts and dump them into the marketplace.

At 2:43 PM , bigtruck260 said...

If you remember Crystal (baseballmomx5) from the previous thread, a shop owner dumped a bunch of Marino fakes on her. They are obviously still around, and the guys who were stuck with them have waited until now to sell...when the controversy died down.

I can't believe that this card was on display at a show in a big city like Dallas without one person informing the seller that the item was a fake.

I mean, I am not even a Yankee guy, and Ruth's sig is so significant, I can tell it is fake from the hundreds of facsimiles I have seen over the years - not to mention the real ones.

I am very suprised that this item has not been pulled. I would also not be suprised if there was some shill bidding going on with this auction...especially since it is now a private listing. I hope soneone sends it for Quick Opinion...

I just received an email from the seller (Prestigesigs) of this fake Dwayne Wade autographed basketball. He claims "I was just at the Garden and saw Dwayne again, about two weeks ago." So he walked into Madison Square Garden with about a dozen basketballs and Mr. Wade autographed all of his basketballs for him. I contacted the Miami Heat about this seller.....And one word about that so-called Babe Ruth autograph: FAKE!!! Chris W..

At 5:45 PM , batter-upcollectibles said...

BT,
I submitted the Ruth cut auto card to PSA to have it pulled, and it came back likely not genuine--of course--but since it is not in the Autographs category, ebay would not end the auction. It is now bid over $1500, so hopefully it is the same seller who did not pay before shooting up the price in order to not pay again.

JS -

If you guys remember the COA on that Gold Signed Pujols Ball, they had the same logos imprinted on their COA -not hard to do.

It stinks about the Cut Ruth card not being removed. Thanks for the help Batter-Up (glad to see you here). What really stinks is that someone is going to buy this, put it into a safe and in 20 years, take it to a dealer to trade or sell and they are going to laugh at him.

Like I said, I have seen these cards made up before - this is not a new concept. Maybe if we contact the Players Association, Topps or UD we could see something done, until then we will probably have to sit back and cringe every time someone bids.

I almost don't feel sorry for those bidding. It is these kinds of people that buy a Rolex from a guy in a truck in NYC thinking they got a great deal - when in reality, it is a fake.

JS - as far as credit goes...If this was a real cut, and authenticated, It would be a neat way to display it. But the fact that it is garbage makes me mad. Also, I would bet that he is shill bidding this item - and that he probably won it himself last time -which is why he relisted it privately.

At 9:40 AM , jodester said...

This reminds me of another point to remember.
Just because it may be an official card company memorabilia card dosnt guarantee that the signature has been authenticated or is real.
Remember recently all the UD cards that were discovered to be fake cuts. Just a hint, Dont automatically assume something is real because it has the name upper deck, psa, gai, topps, etc. atatched to it, you still need to do your homework and be able to do some authentication on a item yourself. These large companies deal with too large a volume to have all the checks and balances needed to ensure 100% authenticity.

At 10:21 AM , bigtruck260 said...

Joedster - Right.

That quad cut by UD had Ruth, Wagner, Johnson and Cobb. (I think!) - They discoved that the Ruth and Walter Johnson cuts were Marino forgeries...some poor guy paid almost $85,000 for it (it was a 1/1)

I know that UD now has Jimmy Spence looking over their cuts sigs - but I have to be honest...I still would not buy a cut sig card unless I was 100% certain myself that the sig is legit. I'm read SCD and I know a few things about authentication - but I'm not an "expert". At least I can admit it - unlike some places that want you to think they are experts (insert your own company name)

If it is a Joe Medwick, Frank Frisch, Dizzy Dean or Stan Musial cut - I'm OK!

Here is a link to a site that has good info on these cuts:

http://richardsimonsports.com/hofauto2.htm

This should upset some people who have cut cards, but it's reality. We are here to help people.

At 12:02 PM , j-man said...

thanks for that link bigtruck.. pretty scary info for big spending collectors. i thought PSA was a very reputable company, but i guess they're not much better than GAI. and if upper deck can mess up that bad, it just goes to show you the only way you can be 100% certain that a signature is real is to see it signed in person. otherwise DO YOUR RESEARCH.

One other comment from me about the cut autographs from Upper Deck. Last year Upper Deck replaced a Connie Mack cut auto numbered 6/6 that was a forgery. Took them months to replace it, but they did. Once again it was greed that got in the way of those cut autographs that were fake. Upper Deck at the time simply did not do go through the proper channels of authentication on many of those cut autographs.....Chris W.

...And Chris Morales will be names VP of merchandising for Coach's corner - that place gets shadier by the minute. If anyone has a recent Tuff Stuff with Ryan Howard on the cover, look at the Coach's Corner ad...it features a 1915 Red Sox signed baseball with Ruth and Tris Speaker. It looks pretty funky - and why wasn't the top autograph authentication company (JSA) not used for authentication? Because CC uses a 'forensics" program to cert. their graphs.

Everyone should know that forensics experts are another term for money grubbing low-lifes who hang from the pods of forgers. They will certify anything...good grief.

And guys, the "contact" at eBay is a vintage sig person, not a current bandwagon expert. He doesn;t really work for eBay per se, but has a strong influence apparently - didn't take long for the Ruth card to be turded.

beachcardjax - major fraud there - came across them this week when I was checking feedback for the guys selling those Pujols items: akinnetwin if you look through thier feedback, you will see about 3 Pujols photos that they took a chance on...all were rejected by Spence.

vladimirgameused27 - something shady going on here...might be the source of those team signed Cardinals jerseys. I am looking into it. Lots of private auctions -never a good sign.

Momof2boys - I'll be honest, that ball looks legit (probably Steiner or MM) but I would bet that the image is stolen from another auction and you will not get that ball. I saw it last night during my search.

Here are some legit Pujols baseball auctions. Albert does sign on the sweet spot still - for charity functions and for other paid functions. His signature on the street is way different than these signatures: These are good:

260087223515
260088540759
230093033333
290086134836

These are likely real:

300081694454
260088038368

Stay away:

250085688341
250086088253

GAI has been authenticating Pujols baseballs too 280085537868 - if they were witnessed, fine. But even though these are close, there is something not right about them. I am not saying that they are fake, I have not seen many that are this looping. I know the seller of this item, and he is a good guy, but I would hesitate to pay more than Albert charges at his own website ($300) when they are stocked, of course.

pujolsfamilyfoundation.com - the best place to find Albert's authentic autograph. It also goes to a good cause. Hope this helps.

To 2004senod2004 -

It is easy for you to play games when you are too afraid to list your crappy items. Not to mention, you have almost 30 negative feebacks. I'm glad you keep posting here, because every time you do, you make yourself look like an idiot.

I did receive some good news from Rich Altman. He said he will be contacting Ebay about the seller (Prestigesigs) and all of their fake Dwayne Wade autograph items. Steiner Sports is not interested at all in helping the situation so I will not be contacting them any more. We do know, of course, that The Pujols Family Foundation is now active in helping to rid the industry of those that rip off the public by those that sell Albert Pujols fake autograph items. But we all know to be a stubborn animal. They consider themselves a "Open Forum" in which they take no responsibility for the sales of fake autograph items. But how can a corporation profit from the sales of those items but take no responsibilty for their content. It's called a double standard. But these problems extend way beyond Ebay. Theese problems exist in local card shops, local card shows, etc. Another problem are the hobby magazines. Beckett will not even acknowledge the problem exist. Did they attempt to get to the bottom of the problem Upper Deck had with it's cut autographs? Many collectors think that just because a hobby store has a huge display ad (or a multi-page ad) in a hobby magazine that the advertiser must be selling authentic autograph items. We all know that to be untrue in some instances. To put it plain and simply it is a epidemic.......Chris W.

When operation bullpen first broke, SCD made the statement that"none of our advertisers sell fake memorabilia". I spewed milk through my nose as I turned to a CC auction 5 pages later.

To tell you the truth I don't think there's anything funny about seller "2004senod2004." He sells fake autograph items in exchange for money. There's nothing funny about that at all. He's been allowed to sell his fakes on Ebay because for the most part Ebay does not care about that part of the transaction. The only part of the transaction they care about is when they accept the fees and commissions from the sales of fake autograph items. I find the whole thing very disgusting......Chris W.

At 7:44 PM , bigtruck260 said...

I think all auction houses in general are loose with what they call authentic. I have read plenty of stories about Ruth and Gehris sigs that were ghost signed by wives and secetaries being auctioned with a blanket PSA letter only to be rejected by PSA when the item was sent in individually without the cert letter...now THAT's a double standard!

At 8:01 PM , Anonymous said...

Chris,
Your buddy Rob here-just a FYI,my items are authentic-that is why ebay has allowed me to sell them.

At 8:28 PM , bigtruck260 said...

No, "Rob" - Ebay has just not caught up wth you yet. Not to mention...YOU STILL HAVE NOTHING FOR SALE! It is easy to talk when you have nothing currently listed.

Let's put it this way buddy - if your items were real (which they are not), why are you accepting so little money for them? Because you don't want to draw attention to yourself...

If and when you do decide to sell your garbage again, I will be one of the first ones (You know Chris will) to send some of your items to PSA quick option. I'll make sure that it is your highest dollar item. That way, when eBay is forced to remove your item (after it fails) you will not be able to sell it again without being suspended.

I can't wait to see NO LONGER A REGISTERED USER after your username. Keep pushing buttons in this blog, and you will find out how quickly it becomes difficult for you to pay your rent.

Quick note to Rob. In the past I have submitted a few of yor items to Quci Opinion and they have failed. Ebay will remove a failed Quick Opinion item but they won't remove all of that seller's fake autograph items because Ebay is all about fees and commissions. You can bet next you list your 100 or so fake autograph items I will forward each and every one to Ebay with a complaint and a few Quick Opinion reports. Many of you sellers have been lucky that Ebay doesn't care. We have helped to have well over 100 bad sellers either removed or prevent them from listing any more fake autograph items. You have been lucky up to this point, Rob. You know exactly what you are selling. Your Item Number 300078537396 (Jason Giambi autograph) is a definite fake. Your Item Number (David Eckstein autograph) 300055182392 is a definite fake. Want me to list more, Rob.....Chris W.

i would stick to Mounted Memories or Steiner on Manning since he's exclusive with them now. Do a search under Manning Steiner or MM for mounted. Same with ben, you can find Mounted I belive.

I was looking to buy a nice Colt's Autographed Helmet. vladimirgameused27 has a nice one #290086431536. Is that a good one to get?

Walker -

I am guessing that you looked at my comment about vladimirgameused27 several posts above. Here is my theory of that seller...I think it is a suspicious question for some reason -

I know that this seller sold a team signed Cardinals 2006 jersey authenticated by "XMI". It looks like the jerseys that have been authenticated by GAI. One problem -many of the signatures are not even close to what they should look like. I emailed the item to the Pujols Foundation and the email I got back was "I would not buy it based on Albert's signing habits - and the Pujols signature is marginal at best." Which, in my opinion means "probably not real". This is from a chairtable organization with nothing to gain by telling me this...they do not sell Pujols jerseys at PFF.

vladimirgameused27 has three team signed GAI authenticated helmets for sale, including the Colts helmet you speak of. I only looked at the Colts listing, and it was a private listing. This always throws up a red flag. Why make it private unless you don't want people contacting bidders...

The Cardinals jersey I spoke of was also listed in a private auction. The buyer had it listed this week. When I contacted him and Chris contacted him, he removed the item...he said he would send it to JSA, but later that day relisted it - it had a $500 bid on it this morning. In the description, he states that he will donate 20% to the Pujols Foundation...

My conclusion is to use your best judgement on the Colts helmet. If you are familiar with the signatures and you agree with GAI, do what you wish. I only buy things with a GAI sticker that I AM CERTAIN are authentic...and that is not many items - actually, 2 items in 5 years on eBay.

I have a feeling that there is a connection between GAI and some sellers out there. Maybe it is payola, maybe there is an "agreement". I assure you that I am watching both that particular seller and GAI. If vladimirgameused27 wants to comment on his items and where he acquired all of those team signed items, I would love to hear it...

NFL LOVER,
theres 2 ways you can go about peyton and big ben.you can go the expensive way and buy mounted memories or you can save a lot of money and buy thm on ebay

i would checkout user i.d's gamedaylegends (for peyton)
steelerman78 (for big ben)
both are are wholesaler buying from mounted so they let stuff go a lot cheaper then.either way you can allways count on both of them to have lots of different items for each player.gamedaylegends will take cheap best offers as long as there above his cost and steelerman78 puts reserves on stuff but there not that high

also if you want tony dungy he just signed exclusive with steiner sports

He has some nice stuff. item; 180086832605. what should i be paying on a proline from steiner or mounted, they look to be going for 400-500?

Check out the garbage from seller "Sportsguy20000." He has an infinite inventory of junk autographed footballs, jerseys and helmets. He sold a ton of baseball fakes during the baseball season like this Ebay Item 280073079485. Stay away from seller "Sportsguy20000." Chris W.

OK
I was able to do this quicker than I thought. Here is a list of sellers that I have used, please add your comments, but please be objective, no childish personal attacks by someone hiding behind "Anonymous".

1.BILLDANIELSPORTS- been around for a long time and has about everything.
2.DDAMER- dave damer, best place to get perez-steele cards, has both signed and UNS
3.MIKEBREEDEN- good source for Goal Line Art Cards, gets them from Collectors Showcase, he also contributes a column to TUFF STUFF mag.
4.QAM - kevin keating, only negative is he dosnt sell his high end items on ebay.
5.SCGAYNOR- scott gaynor, has recently merged with mastro, so he dosnt sell like he used to ,but has a decent one up now.

thats a good one chris on the 500 hr bat.158 bucks is all it went for which is good.amazing how dumb people are.all you got to do is check his other listings, brady, peyton, roethlisberger, bettis, rush, etc all real cheap and wheres the scrubs at?.he had everybody on that bat including grumpy old willie mays.of course theres no steiner hologram for hank,"say hey" for willie and i worked with willie mays at a signing one time and i seriously doubt he would sign at bat for free with all those signatures on it.he is a grumpy old man and known throughout the hobby as one of the most diffult/toughest people to deal with reguarding signing.he doesnt like to do inscb's,he doest want a lot of bats signed at his signings/jerseys.remember willie didnt get paid diddly in mlb and lives off this kinda of stuff plus he sells off his own website so doesnt want to add much competion to the market

Jodester -

Two things for you...

First, KHW Hall of Fame Galleries - if you click on KHW in my blog, it will take you to their page. They sell TONS of slabbed deceased HOF signatures...many that are tough. Chances are, if you have purchased a HOF slabbed cut, index card or Perez Steele - you bought it from him. Fast shipping and great signatures. I wonder how he got all of that stuff sometimes. Sportslot is good too, although if you look way back in this blog, they sold a Jeter/Arod ball that was authenticated by A-Rod inc. (Elite) with a probable fake Jeter sig on the sweet spot. I do not think they forged it, and if the Jeter sig was fake, it was a good one that could have fooled 95% of the public. They are nice people too, and I trust them...most of thier stuff is authenticated by PSA or JSA.

Now, for Bill Daniels Sports. He has good stuff too. He was involved in a big ass lawsuit with a major auction house - I think it was Mastro, but I might be incorrect...they sold a lot of thousands of signed 8x10's for about $20,0000. Bill, realizing the potential (there were Jordans, Mantles, etc.) picked it up. When the box arrived, many of the photos were smaller than 8x10, many of the photos were damaged or signed on the darkest part of the photo. Not sure how that ended up.

Also, Bill has a tendency to sell items with a blanket PSA letter since he buys in bulk. I do not turst PSA's blanket letters because it is cursory - which means that they give everything a quick look and base their opinion on a few key items. I'll give you an example fo something to ponder:

250018668751

How could JSA have looked at this card and given it a thumbs up? I have cards from my childhood that I marked up that look better than this.

Jeter_Sucks:

I have heard the same stories about Willie Mays - just a few bats and Jerseys and cranky. I used to own a Mays signed baseball with his hologram AND a PSA cert. I sold it on eBay for $120...quite a bargain for a real autograph of one of the best players ever. Why take a chance on a fake when you can get one so cheap???

I looked at some of the items Sportsguy20000 has on eBay and the signatures look similar to the ones I have in my collection. Are you sure they are fake?

At 9:25 AM , Anonymous said...

RW

his elway,l.t.,roethlisberges,brady look very questionable.notice he only has great superstars priced for 30 bucks on mini helmets.
i tell you this RW i allways say you can tell a lot about a ebayer by whatelse there selling and even more so by checking there feedback to see what they have sold in the past.usally the same guys over and over again.checkout just a few of sportsguy20000 completed auctions over the last couple weeks

280079856055 colts team sign ball
280079856523 peyton 8x10 10 bucks
280079854549 peyton ball
280061056631 300 hit club bat lol

and come to find out hes reusing his auction pictures.sold a ben roethlisberges mini 280073895714 then listed same auction.so it just goes to show you dont know what your auto is going to look like or even if the pictures hes using are really even his.

trust me somethings not right with this guy

I agree that something is not right with Sportsguy. That 3000 hits club bat looked good with some sigs (Ripken, Gwynn) but they were not close up shots, so no telling how shaky they were...especially when signed in silver paint - it tends to hide imperfections better. The Aaron and Mays sigs are terrible.

HEre is an update from Crystal (baseballmomx5) she apparently has been threatened by Christopher Morales...Mr. Morales, all I have to say is that your connection to Donald Frangipani speaks for itself - for those of you who don't know about Frangipani...google his name. I can tell you this, Forensics in the autograph industry means zero. The HBO RealSports episode that tested authentication companies on sig knowledge prooved that they have no clue they were 0 for 12 when confonted with fakes...they passed all of them. Even GAI did great with what was presented!!!

Here is what Crystal writes:

BIGTRUCK AND FRIENDS,
JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU GUYS AN UPDATE ON THE AUTOGRAPHS I HAVE. THE FORMER CO-OWNER OF THE STORE { YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT STORE } HAS BEEN IN TOUCH WITH ME OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS. HIS LATEST E-MAIL TO ME BASICLY SAID THAT MIKE LEPPO USES A COURT CERTIFIED FORENSIC EXAMINER WHO WE ALL KNOW IS CHRISTOPHER MORALES. AND THAT MR MORALES'S OPINION WILL OUT WAY ANY OTHER OPINION I CAN FIND BECAUSE HE IS COURT CERTIFIED. WHAT EVER THE HELL THAT MEANS. SO BASICLY I AM STUCK WITH MY FAKE CRAP. THE CURRENT OWNER AND FRIEND TO THE OTHER GUY WILL WORK WITH ME ON MY JOE DIMAGGIO PICTURE AND THE TWO AUTOGRAPHED CARDS OF MANTLE AND KOUFAX I HAVE. SO I WILL TRADE THEM FOR SOMETHING DONE BY STEINER. THANKS FOR TRYING TO HELP.IT WAS A HARSH LESSON TO HAVE TO LEARN, BUT ONE THAT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTEN. I CANT SAY ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT CHRISTOPHER MORALES BECAUSE I WILL BE SUED FOR DEFIMATION OF CHARACTER. BECAUSE HE HAS A GOLDEN A-HOLE THAT COMES COURT CERTIFIED AND I AM JUST A FEMALE WITH AN UNEDUCATED OPINION. OR SO I WAS TOLD

Makes you want to go to the store and raise hell...

Here is the number of the store again - and their phone number. I ma sure they would appreciate the advertisement for free:

540-982-8359
The Wax Box

I will be posting the photos sold to Crystal in my personal blog...just click my screenname to access it...I will also post the infamous deathbed Dimaggio baseball.

Bigtruck260,

Yeah Bill Daniels told me the whole story about those photos, I'm not sure what the status is on the lawsuit. I agree about the blanket COA's, theyre a trainwreck.

The only problem I ever had with Bill was when he sent me a item that was not the one pictured in the auction, but to his credit he sent the correct one after I emailed him. It seemed to be innocent on his part, just him not paying attention.

At 2:35 PM , jodester said...

Bigtruck,

On the picture of Mantle & Maris from Crystal. I cant tell from your pic, but if there is an stylized "M" in the bottom left hand corner of that photo, then that is a tip that its a fake. If I remember correctly, thats proof that the pic was generated after Maris's death. Let me know if you find it.

At 3:35 PM , Anonymous said...

wow signature dreams just blew my mind away.there is no doubt in my mind mr morales is a crook and a scammer.he has to be partners with all of these websites, companys and auction house's he claiming b.s. itesm are real.
who knows this guy could be made up completely and doesnt even exist?
we should do some research to slam something directly at mr morales.
i was thinking after looking at signaturedreams.com at there many autographed bats.saw the famous 6 inscb mantle bat now too.looking at another web site i discovered a 6 inscb mantle ball.i tired to put the pieces together between the 2 sites to connect them and theres only 1 thing connecting them and its chris morales

somebody should go to www.rawlings.com and get there phone # and try and find out when rawlings started producing the black big stick model pictured in allmost ever picture of morales items.theres a very good chance it may have been produced after mantle died.mantle seems to be the one thing morales seems to authenticate more then anything and i know there FAKE so its the athlete of choice.this is exaclty who operation bullpen unfolded with mantle being the featured guy then joe d and babe.if we can get some hard proof against this guy i will make sure it is presented to the fbi's department that handles this kinda of stuff

Hey guys. Just a quick note. Ebay Item Number 280085512278 from Ebay Seller "Sportsguy20000" and the result from Quick Opinion is "Likely Not Genuine." What a surprise.....Chris W.

At 4:11 PM , Anonymous said...

To tell you the truth, the LT jersey 280085512278 is one item I would almost guarantee is authentic. Some of the other items might not be but I have about a half dozen Lt items that I obtained in person and the jersey is right on. Hey bigtruck260/dave, you do look a little like nacho libre with that blue mexican wrestling mask.

At 4:13 PM , Anonymous said...

I am not saying you are right or wrong chris w. but I think in this case psa is incorrect about their quick opinion. you should have sent the eli to be questioned. I think this shows that psa/dna makes mistakes at the sellers/buyers expense.

At 4:40 PM , Anonymous said...

The truth is I picked the LT item because I was trying to pick what I thought was the most marginal autograph that could go either way. First of all, I have always been suspicious of that seller's baseball autograph items. So I picked the LT item because it was pretty close to a LT PSA approved autograph. But it still failed. Did PSA miss the boat on that item? Maybe and maybe not. Personally I see slight inconsistencies in that item as compared with the LT PSA item on Ebay (170083416023) at this moment. I did the best I could to give that seller the benefit of the doubt. But I am still suspicious of his baseball items that he had up last summer....Chris W.

At 5:44 PM , Anonymous said...

chris im with you all the way on the l.t. jersey.that was one of the ones that stuck out to me when i veiwed his items this morning.
this is what i see in the middle of his signature at the bottom where im guessing chris noticed a varartion it appears l.t. came back to that spot and gave it a little slash against the loop.you can tell he started from begining to end going through the loops then came back and added that mark to his signature.i watched l.t. for 3 hours signings autographs at someone elses signing before.he doesnt lift his pen up until he puts his number and a dot right next to it.he doesnt go back and add to his signature.

i could be wrong but its just my opinion.if all his items werent questionable this seller wouldnt be on the chopping block right now either.i agree with chris williams and psa however im sure chris morales would pass

That's the exact inconsistency I caught in that autograph, Jeter_Sucks. And I've looked at hundreds of LT autographs on Ebay and, of course, most are fake. The one thing I would like to stress is that we are not on a witch hunt here. Others here and myself do some dedicated research before we submit our findings here. Not only do we do our research but many of us here have been collectors for a long time and we know the difference (for the most part) between the authentic autographs and the forgeries. We also know most of the tricks the forgers use. As dumb as most of the forgers are, their stupidity is masked by Ebay's lack of action against them and that is half of the problem with forged autographs on the auction sites.....Chris W.

Bigtruck,
You know from my history that I'm a big Mantle, Maris, and Ruth autograph collector. I also collect other early Hall of Famers like Johnson, Cobb, Wagner, and I have hunted for a Christy Mathewson for a long time. About 8 months ago, an ebay store listed a single signed Mathewson autographed ball with an LOA from Morales (I only know of three in existence.) I PSA QO'd it and it came back likely not genuine. I had contacted the selling store to see if I could get in touch with the consignor and told him if he had it submitted to PSA or JSA that I would buy the ball for a very large amount. He agreed to send it off. Well, I never heard from him, but I always wondered what happened to the ball. Low and behold it showed up on Coache's Corner last month and sold for LESS THAN $200.00!

Hey, Jeter-Sucks, I asked that seller of Item Number 180088466528 how he acquired all of those Derek Jeter autographed baseballs and his reply was "I just came back from florida where I acquired them in person." I just asked him how much he had to pay Derek for all of those autographed baseballs. I am waiting for his reply to that question.....Chris W.

At 6:56 PM , Anonymous said...

Yes, I will email Mr. Montana's agent and I'll let you know if I get a reply. That seller does give those autographs a great start, but he does "fumble the ball (pun intended)" as he continues with the autograph. As for the so-called authenticator of those "Signaturedream" autographs on that website, it has to make a true collector wonder that if his Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams autograph bats were truly authentic why would he sell them so low. $650.00 for a Mickey Mantle autographed bat! You must be kidding! A Mickey Mantle UDA autographed bat goes for at least $3,0000 and up. And secondly, where the heck did he get all of those Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams autograph bats from? Court appointed or not, I am not impressed! And I am 100% sure that JSA and PSA would not "approve" of those Chris Morales authenticated items.....Chris W.
