2006-2007 Team Signed Red Sox Ball

FACT: Players do sign things at Spring Training, but we have mentioned before that team signed items are extremely hard to get. Has anyone been to Spring Training games this year? Is it harder now than it used to be to get autographs? Here is the description for this ball:

This ball was signed this year during spring training and last year when the Red Sox came to town. This ball is signed by over 20+ Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox that signed the ball include: Manager Terry Francona, Daisuke Matsuzaka (Rare), Curt Schilling, David Ortiz, Jonathan Papelbon, Matt Clement, Josh Beckett, Brendan Donnelly, Joel Piniero, Julian Tavarez, Mike Timlin, Tim Wakefield, Jason Varitek, Alex Cora, Mike Lowell, Julio Lugo, Kevin Youkilis, Coco Crisp, Willy Mo Pena, David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez, and more.

Those are a lot of good autographs on one ball...

This forgery of a Boston Red Sox team-signed baseball comes from Ebay seller "Tripppn." This, of course, failed "Quick Opinion" miserably. They sell numerous fake team-signed items which include both baseball and football items. Ebay already removed a forged Indy Colts team-signed football from this seller's (Tripppn) auctions. This seller (Tripppn) claims they acquire their team-signed autograph items in person. Sure they do. Each and everyone of their fake team-signed baseball items look like they were all signed by the same person. How do these people sleep at night knowing they are selling fakes? As I write this comment, this fake team-signed baseball is up to $405.00. I have asked Ebay to quickly remove this and their other fakes before some novice bidder gets stuck with this piece of garbage.

there seems to be a lot of team signed redsox balls on ebay right now.how many auctions must ebay remove from one seller before they get black balled?

here is another very interesting example of a mickey mantle/willie mays baseball
280099170662
take a good look at the mays signature.look how he signed "mays".in my opinion the first part of the signature looks allright but the tell tale is the second part not right.
add to the fact anything that has mickey mantle on it scares me no matter who is the coa is from

i have done my own research on the seller "pm5k21048" of this baseball over the last year and i must tell you ive seen him selling some very questionable items allong with some real ones.
he has another account which is his main seller account "candace123" he has been unregistered serval times on both accounts during the last year.another dealer he buys wholesale from told me 6 months ago he was suspened for 1 month for selling fake mantle baseballs and derek jeter.maybe chris has some insight on this guy.
maybe all-authentic.com has something to add about him because he is either buying directly from them or another because he also sells all-authentic evil knievel items and ive seen him selling a.a. mays jerseys before too.
he normaly lists his items if its psa,aa,gai, uda within the description but its seems he just sells things now that come with coas without naming the issuer.
he has been selling dual signed montana/rice minis all year average sale 100 bucks and cheap wilson replica montana/rice balls for same price

At 7:55 PM , jeter-sucks said...

i also think this seller doesnt really know what he is selling.he is stricly a reseller buying same orders from other dealers thinking everything he is selling is real.
checkout one of his suppliers
280099160465
reggie bush from authenticgraph
now we all know reggie is exclusive with gary takahashi of gtsm and theres no connection between authenticgraph and gary because i asked him and he had never heard of him

here are some more of his questionable items
280099164093
montana/rice dual signed football.
im willing to bet this is probaly a authenticgraph item as well.they sold tons of footballs all cheap wilson super grips.now putting this duo on a dual signed item would make a great collectors piece but who drops 200 bucks wholesale to put them on a ball that cost $9.99 at walmart just to sell them on ebay for 100 bucks or so and seem to have a endless supply of them

At 8:15 PM , jeter-sucks said...

also check out this item by same seller "tripppn" and team signed 13x19 picture
notice this seller sells nothing but team signed items and by his feedback has beening selling more team signed items then mounted memories.
look at the photo as well as all his other photos, the signatures are all spaced out allmost like it was done at a paid signing when were telling the athlete to please sign it here.when guys sign for free for this hackers they dont usally care about those kind ofthings.explain to me how 20 guys sign a item all spaced out nice and neat like that on each item he sells

Hey, Jeter_Sucks, good point about seller "Candace123." Again, they, too, were one of the first sellers I caught selling fake autographs on Ebay when I first started my investigation. Ebay did suspend them for selling fakes and once again, like they always do, they allow these sellers of fake autograph items to come back on and sell fakes. It is beyond comprehension that Ebay does this. You also asked "how many auctions must ebay remove from one seller before they get black balled?" That's an excellent question and one that I always bring up to Ebay but they come up with deaf ears. Seller "Tripppn" is selling obvious forgeries, and I prove it to Ebay, and yet they allow "Tripppn's" other fake team-signed items to run. I emailed "Tripppn" about Item Number 330103291027 (fake Cardinals team-signed baseball)and told him I was going to send it to "Quick Opinion" he ended the auction early and sold it to the highest bidder. Because he knew it would fail "Quick Opinion." All Ebay sees is fees and commissions from these bad sellers.

Check out the terrible fakes from Ebay Seller "Stormfan234." Check out their fake Jeter/Arod autographed photo (Item Number 270104764510) that sold for $12.49. I complained to Ebay but as usual they did nothing.

At 9:57 PM , Christopher said...

Check out this bad Jeter fake (Ebay item Number 160101208438) of a autographed jersey from Ebay Seller "Chisox-07."

At 10:55 PM , Christopher said...

Jeter_Sucks and I both do the same type of investigating and he mentioned ex-Ebayer "Authentic-Graph." As you know, all of the following sellers all come from the same area in the state of Maryland: Authentic-Graph, Candace123 and PM5K21048 (same person), 17Simon, etc. As a matter of fact, seller "17simon" is now selling the same autograph items that sellers Authentic-Graph, Authentic-Graph2 and Authentic-Graph3 used to sell. I asked seller "17simon" what her relationship is to the Authentic-Graph group and received no reply. I know what the relationship is but I cannot mention it here or else I would divulge my search methods. But you would be amazed at how these sellers get around Ebay rules and regulations.

check out this bad fake of peyton manning. Item : 160102150016

This guy has 3-4 different manning super bowl incribed items. Manning has not and WILL not inscribe anything for anyone other than Steiner and Mounted Memories. This guy has alot of balls to do this and the signature is horrible too.

He has a ton of fake stuff

Tom Brady Inscribed 3x champs 8x10s, the list goes on and on.. Favre items

CHeck out this item:
160101879595
A COMPLETED Reggie Bush 8x10 for 25.00

CHeck out this item:
Brett Favre COMPLETEd 8x10 for 25.00

The super bowl mannings ended at 25.00 too. This guy needs to go.

its pretty clear to me that many of these bigger sellers of fakes who get kicked off have sold so much stuff it still surfaces on ebay regualry.anther reason for this is for example "authentic-graph"has been selling for a long time and theres so many"mom and pops" sellers trying to start doing this at home allways looking for a company to buy wholesale from.they search ebay for what they think is trusted compaines and many have bought purchases from authenticgraph for resell.whats happens when authenticgraph gets kicked off ebay??simple they start calling all the wholesale customers offering them better deals still moving product.
its something ebay should address like they did with the bullpen sting is add that sellers companys name to the not allowed to list on ebay coa list.it shouldnt take a arrest warrant from the f.b.i. to get that done

At 6:00 AM , jeter-sucks said...

hey chris while were on the subject of maryland what about the gai/dna huge seller out of essex, maryland?he has serval user id.s he uses regualry.this is his lastest one "michaelb8948"
this seller currently hasnt relisted his huge batch of gia weekly auctions but he normaly lists tons of auctions per week between all 3 of his accounts.
he sells noithing but the best of the best, all superstars, and everything is usally gai.
34 bucks for 8x10 peyton manning
39 walter payton mini helmet
59 bucks david ortiz bat

chris do you think there is a connection between that whole maryland group??there certainly couldnt be that many athletes hanging out at hotels in maryland to get freebies from

At 7:05 AM , jeter-sucks said...

thats funny chris seller 17simon seems to be selling some of the same types of items as the other maryland group

the item i just spoke of montana/rice super grip ball
280097139437
is also being offered by this seller.funny he also says item is guartnee to pass global . who cares

Have you guys noticed that Ebay Seller is one of those "1-Day Auction" sellers. He is the one selling all of those suspicious Peyton Manning autographed photos. As for Ebay Seller "michaelb8948," as soon as they list something else I will have more information on them. What amuses about seller "michaelb8948" also is that in his auctions he advertises a collection agency for those who need help getting their Ebay items paid for and yet their feedback is terrible for not delivering items that buyers paid for.

Jeter -

I have been watching the GAI situation for a full year now...especially involving certain team signed items. How is it possible for a seller to make money from a 35 dollar autograph that has an authentication fee attached?

There are two scenarios - first, someone over at GAI is simply overwhelmed and lazy, and has decided to pass things that look good to him at first glance. OR he is just getting a few bucks slipped to him through pre arranged orders. I prefer to think that this person is an incompetent turd who thinks that the average customer will not know the difference...simply buying the items because they have a sticker from an eBay accepted authenticator. Actually, he would be correct by thinking that.

I think it would be a good idea for the authenticators to guarantee thier work...say if Jeter is approached by a collector with a GAI item and is asked if it is his signature, and he says "absolutely not", money should be refunded and a public apology in all major hobby publications...especially SCD, who treats them like a half-brother should be required.

I like the idea of a professioanl opinion, but most athletes have differing signatures, and nobody really has clue anymore. PSA quick option is good for removing the losers who sell BLATANT crap on eBay, but it provides a false sense of security for buyers. I mean, do you think forgers perfect their work and send it off to PSA to be checked???Absolutely. Do ya think they pass some???? Absolutely.

I am getting to the point that I feel all autograph sales should be removed from eBay uless they are from a major and proven signing sopnsor. There are just too many hillbillies taking advantage of the system.

Here is a prime example of how Ebay doesn't care. Ebay Seller "Lastavard" is an Asian seller. "Lastavard" is their fifth Ebay ID. They had their fake autograph items removed under their previous Ebay IDs. They were already caught selling forgeries under the Ebay Ids of Chiali2005 and Orz2007. Now they are doing it again. This seller is part of a Asian ring that sells forgeries. They are part of a Asian ring that sells forgeries of only 8X10 autographed photos. This is this seller's fifth Ebay ID and once again he listed his forgeries without them being flagged by Ebay. Incredible isn't it. Why, after having fake autograph items removed by Ebay under their previous IDs, does Ebay allow them to sell again. It really is incredible!!!

At 6:55 PM , bigtruck260 said...

Borat -

RMJ autographs...the jury is out. You are right, some look real and some look real questionable.

Chris - good call on that Asian ring. Are they part of the same one that was huge last year selling fake jerseys and horrid photos?

Hey - check out this garbage that just got listed. I feel sorry for the grandkids that inherit this one. 280100633352

Hey, Bigtruck, Ebay Seller "Norcalgraphs" has been on my list for awhile. I reported them to Ebay awhile back as a resurfaced bad seller and Ebay removed their fake autograph items. And now they are back selling fakes again. Incredible!!!

At 7:29 PM , Christopher said...

Yes, Bigtruck, they were and are a part of that same ring. Again, why does Ebay allow them to submit more fake autograph auctions. Incredible. Ebay Seller "Tripppn" is still selling numerous forged team-signed items even after I proved they are selling forgeries.

Yes, once again Ebay Seller "Norcalgraphs" has put up more questionable and suspicious-looking autograph items as I mentioned before. They've had their items removed before so why are they allowed to submit them again. Ebay wake up please.

At 4:08 AM , Christopher said...

That brings up the subject of Ebay Seller "Tripppn." They have had three of their autograph items come back from "Quick Opinion" as "Likely Not Genuine" and yet Ebay allows them to continue selling their other very questionable autograph items. Can you please give me the reason why, Ebay?

At 7:20 AM , jeter-sucks said...

big truck
in response to your comment about how anyone can make money on a 35 dollar 8x10 with a authencation fee attached

if you have a dealer account you can get your gia and psa items for 5 bucks a item.with a seller that seems to have 100's and 100's of global items he must have a account with them.

i will not rule out that it could be a global scam with a inside employee or old emloyee but one thing its clear to say is that knowing with a 5 dollar fee and 1 dollar for the photo theres no way item came from a paid signing

only 2 options are its a fake or signed for a autograph hound.willing to bet its probaly a little bit of both.what in person guy can build up such a strong inventory of same stars and keeping them coming fast then you can sell them?

We have noticed on Ebay on a consistent basis that whenever something major happens (like Florida winning the Division 1 college basketball title last night) that hundreds of suspicious and questionable autograph items start showing up on the web site (I will no longer call Ebay an auction site or house, since a true auction site is responsible for the content of their auctions). Last night Ebay Seller "Norcalgraphs," a seller of very questionable autograph items, sold a very questionable Florida Gators team signed basketball (Item Number 280100632491) for $299.00. "Norcalgraphs" has sold hundreds of questionable autograph items since they came back on Ebay. As a matter of fact, all of their team-signed college items look like they were done by one and the same person. Ebay Seller "Tripppn" is selling a Florida Gators team-signed floorboard tonight (Ebay Item Number 330104374404) that failed "Quick Opinion." See below:

Your Request for Item "Florida Gators basketball team-signed floorboard.", Ebay Item No. "330104374404", opinion was rendered at "4/3/2007 2:55:15 PM" and the result was:

Hi! I just bought a ton of signed baseballs and 8x10's off this guy "fanindastands" does anyone know how I can go about getting GAI (they suggested them) or something to do a group authentication on 'em? Do they do group discounts? I have like 4 Jeter baseballs, about 5 Pujols', a couple A-Rod's and some Barack Obama 8x10's. Please let me know!

Allrealnice -

I would take everything that you bought from Fansindastands and toss it into a dumpster.

You would be doing the collecting community a favor. If GAI approved anything from Fansindastands, it would solidify the argument that GAI is the worst at giving a professional opionion.

And by the way, that is MY opinion.

Borat=Priceless.

You know, If I thought that Allrealnice was a legit dumbass collector who was buying fakes from "stands",I would continue the retarded question and answer game with him.

My guess is that he is still a dumbass, but is trying to weasel his way into the board by disgusing himself. Probably has a hundred fakes up on eBay right now...

Again, by trying to say that a "stands" item passed PSA, he is trying to convince the rest of us that PSA is innacurate and incompetent.

I don;t know how many other ways I can say this. WE KNOW that the authentication services are not always correct. BUT, by sending the obviously fake crap to PSA, we can show the rest of the readers (many more than post here) how bad the sigs are. Most come back within minutes - which means that zero research is needed to nix the auction.

Since eBay has a deal with PSA that all failed items are removed, it probably would not be in the best interest of PSA to fail every one that comes across. An ignorant poster a while back (CeleberD) asked me why quick opinons were answered on Sunday at 2am.

My guess is that some people at PSA have access at home to the "opinion material" and can immediately discern fake from real. The borderline sigs are given extra time.

It is fun watching these criminals act like the fools that they really are. Some of the stories and flat out lies that they come up with are things that a fourth grader would tell his friends to impress them. They reuse the same stolen photos over and over again to offer "proof", and attened every sprong training for every team - and meet all of the high profile players at hotels and airports. They are fairy tales.

But his auctions read and I quote "Signings take place at Private Signings, Team Hotels, Game Day, Pro Bowl, Preseason Camp. " And he shows a photo of the athlete signing. Again, another case of a Ebay Seller using a photo that isn't his to try to sell a questionable autograph.

i call BS on allrealnice as well...

"The guy seemed nice.. I got a good price. One of the m already passed PSA. Supposedly he knows someone at A Steiner Sports company, too. Are they good with thier stuff?"

are you serious?? you buy 4 jeter signed baseballs, and you don't know of steiner and their reputation?? i think you lost all credibility (that you didn't have anyways, btw) with that line. i wouldn't be suprised if this is Mr. Pong (fansindastands) Meng himself trying to sound like a dumb buyer.

and as bigtruck said, i also believe that the people at quick opinion have access at home because many of the items sent in are auctions which are time sensitive. so i would think they would want to meet the needs of their customers before it is too late to bid on an item.

and yes these sellers do reuse pictures as "proof". last night at the phillies game (big dissapointing loss to the braves) i happened to get a picture of pat burrell from about 2 feet away from him while he was signing autographs. although i did not get his signature, if i were a dishonest seller (ie: fansindastands, norcalgraphs....) i could easilly scribble "pat burrell" on a baseball, and set it up on ebay with his picture as "proof". and that's what many sellers do.

it also makes me sick thinking of all the pictures of ryan howard signing that will end up being used as "proof" for fakes.

getting ready to go to todays phils game and hope for a win.. maybe i'll be back later.
have a good day everybody.

Anyways my ball has 27 signature's on it, or atleast I think. It's not numbered or anything so it may be that it's not rare. But just out of uriousity do you think you know how much it's worth?
