Fake Montana Framed Picture

Another ridiculous item by eBay seller awesomeitems247. This seller is the one that adds a frame via Photoshop to fake autographed pictures and sells framed items for usually around $14.95. This Joe Montana autograph is as fake as they get. No Montana Hologram, doesn't say where it was signed. I know Joe Montana's agent and it costs way more than $14.95 just for Joe's signature. Even a cheap frame at Costco is around $7-8 bucks. Just look at the sellers other items and you will realize that NO ONE could have that much signed stuff from so many high profile celebrities.

Can you see how the frame was inserted by a computer program? How this person is still selling on ebay blows my mind. When you look at their other items they have signed pictures from Lucille Ball, Brad Pitt, THE CAST OF FRIENDS (see below), Pacino & Brando dual signed pictures, Christopher Reeve signed pictures, Princess Di, and it just gets worse.

Horrible!

Fradulent eBay Seller mmash2 Beware!

Watch out for this eBay seller. They are copying other legitimate seller's images and shipping forgeries to unsuspecting customers. Check out their auctions. They are selling a Sammy Sosa ball that if you look at the image you would think you are getting an authentic signature. But instead they ship you a fake autographed ball with a few trading cards. CLICK HERE to look at this seller. Notice in the Sosa ad, they don't say where the COA comes from, when it was signed, or anything that would prove authenticity. Remember, unless a seller is buying from reputable companies or doing documented signings, they are probably selling fake items because there is no way they are finding these guys in the locker room to sign their stuff. Check out this page from MRAK Sports on how to spot forgeries on eBay. If you have ever been taken advantage on eBay we want to hear about it. Post your comments at the bottom of this article.

Fake Dickerson Mitchell & Ness

This is a fake Mitchell & Ness Eric Dickerson jersey with a fake Dickerson autograph. This is the same eBay seller as the two items below. You can tell this is a fake Mitchell and Ness jersey because to the best of our knowledge, Dickerson doesn't have a contract with them and if you do a search on the Mitchell & Ness site, they don't even have a Dickerson jersey. There are a lot of fake M&N jerseys on the Internet, you can check out their Product Authenticity page to find out if you have a fake Mitchell & Ness jersey.

Fake Kobe Jersey

This is another item from the same seller. A fake Kobe autograph on a possible authentic jersey. The sad thing is that it is already at $275 with 5 hours left on the auction which means someone is going home with a fake Kobe autograph. Again, a COA from their own, unknown company, the scan is kind of hard to see but the signature is definitely not Kobe. No mention of Upper Deck (who owns Kobe) or PSA-DNA who authenticated some things that weren't Upper Deck.

Now look at an Upper Deck Kobe signature:

You can see our authentic Kobe PSA-DNA autographed jersey here.

Fake Bo Jackson Autograph

Look at this Bo Jackson autograph. Look at the way they forged the "a" in Jackson, Bo doesn't write his "a" like that. Further more, Bo has an exclusive with Tri Star Productions and everything he signs comes with their hologram. Take a look at this signature:

Now look at the signature from the Tri Star web site:

When you look at the seller's other auctions you will find that they have 413 auctions up right now from big name stars. They get none of them from reliable companies and everything comes with their own COA and hologram (they are an unknown company). EVERYTHING BO SIGNS should come from Tri Star, if it doesn't that means he signed in person which Bo hardly EVER does!

Sports Memorabilia Industry $2 Billion Strong

Tri Star Productions reports that the sports collectible industry is $2 billion strong with over 16 million collectors worldwide. Regarding the value of your sports items, obviously the more collectors in the market, the more your items are worth, unless of course the supply exceeds the demand which as most collectors know, this is not the case. Baseball memorabilia has always been the strongest collector category simply because the sport has been around so much longer. However, with the emergence of the NFL and the NBA, new collectors are popping up every day. As the popularity of professional sports increases, the memorabilia market will also increase. Also, studies show that people are more comfortable buying autographs now because of the ability to recognize well known companies who supply them. While there are still a lot of fakes on eBay, it is getting easier and easier to spot them.

Baby boomers are the target market for this nostalgia industry, and according to economic forecaster HS Dent, this huge population will be reaching their peak spending ages from 2005-2009. This is good news for the memorabilia industry because in any industry, when your target market is reaching their peak spending ages, a boom is inevitable.

Fake Montana Autograph?

This autograph actually looks pretty good, but there are a few problems. #1 Montana charges way more than $9.99 to sign a picture. He actually charges over $50 to sign 8X10s. #2 ALL Montana items always come with a Montana Authentic Hologram or a Triumph Sports Hologram, this one doesn't, #3 this seller has a PRIVATE feedback file (which means it is bad) with 89% positive, which is really bad. Is this a fake autograph? We think it is, but go check out the auction and see what you think.

Fake Magic Autograph

This is as bad as it gets. Another pre printed autograph. This guy couldn't even copy an autograph that was anywhere close to a real Magic Johnson autograph. Check it out.

This is a real Magic Autograph:

Fake Kobe & Jordan Autograph Only $13.99!

Check this guy out on eBay. He is selling autographed "framed" pictures on eBay for $13.99. This one you get Kobe Bryant AND Michael Jordan autographs for only $13.99, what a deal!
