Apple Valley, CA Has A Bad Reputation For Sports Memorabilia
Many of you have probably heard of the story of the thieves who stole a bunch of sports memorabilia. This article from the LA Times rips them for stealing an Eric Davis signed bat. It goes on to say that Dickerson's signature isn't worth much among other things.
The weird thing is the Apple Valley connection. That is where Anthony Marino (no relation to the Marino family out of San Diego) lived, one of the big dealers that was busted by the FBI in Operation Bullpen. Marino was caught on tape laughing about how fast his forger could sign his items. He sold millions in fake memorabilia before he was charged.
Then these guys keep a storage unit full of stolen sports memorabilia in Apple Valley.
Not saying there is any connection, just kind of weird.
Apple Valley seems like a nice town -- why do all of these sports memorabilia thugs live there?
